    After some discussion in this thread, we are having a 2012 Sunday Storm competition. There will be a $50 competition which the winner will receive a special badge, and a non-badge $200 competition. If anyone wants a competition at a different stake, we have time to fill it up, so state your interest.

    Rules
    1) The person with the high amount of cummulative cashes (not profit) during a month will receive 10 points for that month. 2nd highest amount of cashes will receive 7 points, 3rd will receive 5 points, and 4th will receive 2 points. The monthly scoring system vs. total cashes during the year was the consensus in the discussion thread, since this way if someone wins the Sunday Storm one week, they will win the monthly 10 points, but still have to prove over time they are consistant and get some scores in future months to have a chance to win. A perfect score, which is very unlikely, would receive 120 points.

    2) Late entry is allowed, but cashes previous to you signing up and paid will NOT count towards the competition.

    3) Participants who cash in a Sunday Storm, must report their score in a scoring thread which will be created after the competition. Since I am expecting a decent turn-out for this, especially since its badge related, this will make my life easier. I will double check that the person that reported their cash did indeed cash for the amount they stated.

    4) You must have your pokerstars name in your profile at all times during the competition.

    5) I will be tracking scores in a public google docs spreadsheet.

    6) There will also be a seperate monthly contest for those interested. You do not have to sign-up and pay for the monthly contest for your scores to count in this contest. It is just going to be a contest to provide extra action for those that are interested. The thread for the January competition will not be created until the middle of December. The only badge will be for the $50 year long competition.

    7) In the unlikely event that Pokerstars is shut down in your country in 2012, your buyin will be refunded no matter where you stand in the contest, and the contest will continue with those still allowed to play on Pokerstars.com. Also, in the unlikely event of Pokerstars shutting down all together in 2012, I will refund the buyins assuming I still have access to my Pokerstars account to do so. I am only putting this disclaimer in due to the events that occurred with US players being excluded from Pokerstars during April 2011.

    8) Payouts will be based on the total number of entrants as listed below:
    8 or Under participants - winner takes all
    9-15 Partcipants - winner 80%, 2nd 20%
    16-25 Partcipants - winner 70%, 2nd 20%, 3rd 10%
    26-35 Participants - winner 65%, 2nd 20%, 3rd 10%, 4th 5%
    36 of more Participants - winner 60%, 2nd 20%, 3rd 10%, 4th 7%, 5th 3%

    Any questions, please ask. Please post in this thread if you are interested in the competition, and also post ITT if you have sent me money so I can check my Pokerstars cashier. Payment will only be accepted on Pokerstars. Send to wackyJaxon (Lithuania) to enter.

    This contest would have been a disaster if run in 2011. I will make a disclaimer in the OP, that in the unlikely event pokerstars shuts down in your country or all together, your buyin will be refunded no matter where you are in the standings and the contest will go on.

    pokerstars is still huge, but wish US players could also play there.

    Its December now, so hopefully we get some more ships for the lower and higher contests. Feel free to express interest so others know you are interested. There was plenty of interest in the thread floating ideas on how to run this, etc.

    Am i reading right that if someone wins it one week but doesnt cash the rest of the month they will get less points then someone that cashes twice in the month even if there min cashes?

    If someone wins the storm, they will win the month most likely. On a monthly basis its done on Most amount cashed. So if someone cashed in 1 tourney for $20k, that would be hard to beat, and they would most likely get 10 points for the month.

    oh ok yer i was reading wrong, thought it said it was based on amont of cashes not total of those cashes in that month

    How much do you think I should run the single month contests for? They aren't badge worthy. Thinking $50 will probably get the most people.

    ya 50$ sounds good... but maybe 30$ would be better to motivate more people to join them?

    Agree with Fou, 30$ seems better to get more people as a lot of player (me incl.) play the stom out of BRM so 50$ is a lot in this case..
    I will very likely be in the 50 yearly comp. but as I am away traveling January and February idk yet if I reg now or early march..

    I will add a seperate thread for the January contest in a week or two. $30 seems like a good amount for the monthly contests as both you and Foutight suggest. Can always put up a higher tier one at the same time as well.
