How many is managable for optimal performance and how many do you people usually have/like going at once to be confident?

Everyone is different so there is no right or wrong answer. Most people will say start off with one or two, then slowly add a table or two to find out where you are most comfortable.

When I was grinding on stars and tilt I would play 6-14 tables at a time, and I can say that I was not at my best but I put in a lot of volume and it worked for me. Now that I am exclusively playing on Lock I usually play anywhere from 4-8 tables at a time, and I am definitely at my best when I am playing 4 tables.
Try out different things and see how many table you are most comfortable with, but don't overwhelm yourself with too many tables. Good Luck. -
Still kind of working on it personally. Im up to about 4-6 comfortably, though the other day I got up to 8 and it was a bit hectic for me. I find it easier when it's all tables from the same site than multi-siting. There is almost always going to be a trade-off, but I think 6 is doable for most players without too much of a drop-off in play.
-
As many as you can play comfortably. Player dependent. I feel like I play my best when I have about 6 tables going, but when I could play stars and tilt I wouldn't feel too uncomfortable until I got above 14 or 15.
-
Depends what you are playing. I think it's def easier if it is all the same type of game (like 180s for eg.). Make sure you build up slowly. I struggled with 4 once but now normally play up to 18. Try some software as well as it makes a big difference. Table Ninja, StackAndTile and Custome Title Bar are all great.

if you really think about it tho.. 8-24 going all at one time seems best..
8 when we are in the the normal m0de, and 24 when we're m0ding on all cylinders.
6-12 is an obv level and i think that's rude considering how genuine this op is -
I have been working this out for myself recently. I feel that 4-6 is my focused limit. hero has a $0.60 SnG and I have been pulling up as many as possible and seeing where it ends up. Right now for me anything over 8 tables is a little hectic and the quickness of the decision making process is a little tough.
Work is slowing down so I am going to hire a coach to work one on one with through the winter. -
Ok, thanks for the 'where your at' it helps locate me.

But genuinely I need some advice. I play stints intermitantly. Micro/low for about 2 month at a time then nothing much for 2/3. I find that I forget how foccussed you need to be to succeed and it takes me some time to get back into it and a little reading.
Then I get a bink and tend to blow about half of it playing too much at a time and I want to stop that. I'm am trying to ask what is the best ratio for volume/focus.
I know it's different for everyone dependent on if you play volume and thus push/fold poker or much more focussed observational like the Pearljammers/Apestyles/Rizen books. I just don't seem to be able to show profit in the first method and want a marker to do myself justice in the second but optimise my tables.
Sorry, I know that even this expanatory request isn't very clear but nothing is in poker and I know lots of other people have this quandry. So please do your best to help me to figure this out. -
Every1 starts somewhere, when I first started I couldn't cope with more than 2 tables an now I go upto 24 at a tym (which is too much 2bh)
You hav to build up an play what's comfortable, instead of goin from 6 - 12 try 9. I found a few months of cash really helped me see where I'm most comfortable an used to playin with a certain amount.
Most importantly you need to find the right balance of maximum volume with your optimum playing level. So if you can play 6 optimally but need 12 to get a semi decent volume Mayb 9 is best for you. -
yea 6 tables probably about right here, also depends on reads and hud info

my 'cruising' speed is about 15 mtts at once... some days i will peak at 20-22 mtts at once and that is madness but usually doesnt last for more then 1hour

astrophysicists actually developed a formula for this based on egyptian hieroglyphs.
IQ / AGE x display score + bonus'.
display score is your screen or screens total inch size divided by 30
'bonus' are +4 each. this includes huds and short cut apps like table ninja
so a 30 yr old with an IQ of 140 using 3 x 22 inch screens (66 inches total) and table ninja would be :
140 / 30 x 2.2 + 4 = 14.3 tables before they start to make too many errors.
a 20 yr old with an IQ of 100 and 1 x 28 inch screen using a HUD would be :
100 / 20 x 0.93 + 4 = 9.3 tables
sounds complicated and it is - they were astrophysicists after all.
too help put it in perspective -
Doyle Brunson using a 22 inch screen would only be able to 1 table whilst say a 3 yr old genius using the same set-up as Doyle could technically 48 table provided they can work the mouse and keyboard properly. -
So does that mean a man copping a blow job by two 17yo females mean they can play up to 60 taables?
What about a man flicking the bean of a 2 y/o? How many could he play?
What about Jimmy Sui with his 18y/o mistress, does his IQ complement her age and therefore can he play more tables?
And lastly what if furniture John had 12 eyes, how many could he play?
