Yeah I dont think publicly airing a financial dispute is necessarily the wrong way to go, especially if one of the parties is shutting out the other. But you need to be more specific. Give dates, $ figures, what was agreed to, what private communication have you had regarding the dispute, etc. The poker community is good about coming to a consensus and possibly helping the situation get resolved. But based on what youve provided it's hard to tell exactly what's going on.

Now with that I told him no more chat or pms to me but I would honor our agreement and I owed him two 1 hr lessons. Bottom line is I am committed to all my students and really want to help, but when Will showed an uter disregard for me and my big Sunday it was just to much, I couldn't believe he couldn't wait to talk later, he just kept on and on and on getting me all distracted from my play, it was to much.
With that he went off on me and demanded the money and here we are. I am not stealing anyone's money, I will honor my agreement.
Will was my most active student and I tried hard to make it work but it just didn't. Will knew I charged for 3 lessons at a time to cover my free time I am spending with the students and I don't do refunds., If someone pays for 3 lessons they get all 3 every time, I wouldn't cheat anyone.

This sounds plausible to me. I don't know either of the parties well enough to judge this with any certainty, but in my limited dealings with cracker he has never come across as the kind of person who is arrogant or petty. I dont hae any bad experiences with OP, though the tenor of this thread is a little unflattering to him.

Anyway looks like cracker has promised to honor the remaining lessons, hard to see how he's breached any agreement provided he follows through on that.

If you guys had a contract that says no refunds, then I guess do your thing but it's still such a small amount it's probably worth it to just giving it back. He is a somewhat new to online player who is looking to improve, and you are suppose to be a coach. You guys appeared to be somewhat friends just from reading shit on this site, so that makes it even look worse on you. All IMO tho.

It wasn't over a hand bro. Our argument wasn't over poker it was over arguing and the fact that he wouldn't give me the courtesy of being allowed to play now and talk later. I am a player first and a coach second, I give away alot of my free time to my students but occasionally like a big Sunday I should be allowed to focus. It was to much and I told him we were done.

He sent me a pm and I replied I would honor the lessons. Then he pms P5s admins and tried to get me in trouble and then he makes this thread.

I will honor our agreement but i am not sure I want to give in to this type of pressure. I would imagine this could have been handled better and deff less public. Will got hours and hours of my time outside of lessons and at no point was I ever scamming anyone. Just a bad situation.

You guys really don't see the conflict of interest in teaching someone you don't like to beat a game, where you play against the same opponents and the one you're teaching?

Also, the product has less value if the future information is emotionally or negatively impacted.

It seems like whether or not 3 lessons at once is a good idea or the fairest way to transact poker coaching, it's how cracker does it, and the OP knew this. You may think a 14.7 month lease is weird, but if you sign one, and then after a year the landlord says you won't be allowed to extend that lease, you cant move out immediately and demand 2.7 months worth of rent back.

The only wrinkle is if access to the chat group is understood as part of what the student is paying for when he purchases a block of lessons from cracker. If so, then shutting out the OP seems kinda unfair, at least until he has been given his final lessons. Maybe give him some kind of discount on the remaining lessons, to account for the loss of chat privileges? Or have him back in the chat group with the understanding that really you're all adults and there's no need to get uncivil about a poker hand?

From what I can tell, neither side is right or wrong. Each beleives they are right but who is to define what is 100% correct. All i know john is that If you really want nothinbg to do with the man anymore your best move is to just give him his money and end this. As much as I may disagree with most of what "theman20050" he has a point that the product/service Is somewhat devalued now.
