  1. Any chance the criteria can be lowered to 75 player field instead of 100 since there's a bunch of tournies on the sites that serve u.s. players that meets the 1K criteria but always come short in field size.

  2. Thanks for your suggestion. We're looking into different Rankings and Triple Crown criteria right now. There are a few changes that would be required on our end, so we're evaluating what options we can take.

  3. Yah I like this idea. Doesn't matter any more but alot of PLO and PLO8 tourneys on stars just missed the 100 mark.
  4. How about we just let any 6-8 player home game be ranked as well?

I think there needs to be a limit and 100 players is not unreasonable at all.

Next you also want the total prize pool dropped to $500 instead of $1000 min

I'm sure once regulation hits it'll all be back as smooth as ever.

Funny.. Seriously though these 100 people minimum are usually fine on nlh tourneys cuz there always met on gurantees. But Alot of the gurantees on stars get between 50-100 people, so I think their should be some exception.
  7. I agree totally with this. For example the late $100+r on stars is a tourny I would think could be considered for rankings, yet during some of the weekdays it gets 60-90 runners. There are also quite a few of the other $109's on both FTP and Stars that tend to get 80-100 runners during weekdays and imo they are perfectly legitimate fields with most of the regs playing in them. Sure, they are small fields, but the points would be awarded accordingly using the current points system and it's not like they are necessarily small prizepools either.

I think that with everything as it is if the US gov can get its act together and a site is smart enough to pay close attention to what they need to do then very soon USA residents will have a place to play that will easily full fill the requirements.

I also think that getting the rankings right for the ones that are tracked is more important than opening it up and having lower quality.

Just remember that the score included from such low player volume games will be very low unless the scoring is changed.

I feel that they should keep how the score is computed is the same, but allow for smaller fields to assist with regional types of rankings even though it won't help much with overall rankings. I don't play many tournaments myself, so doesn't bother me one way or the other, just sounds like it would be fair in the current environment.

  12. Ask and ye shall receive guys. This thread was actually the reason we at PocketFives.com changed our Rankings tournament requirements effective immediately:

  13. Even though i thought they should be left, I am happy about the changes as I'll get more points.

Unfortunately this means everyone else will get more too.

Good job P5's on giving the people what they want.
  14. Love the new changes this really helps the field size issues on the remaining u.s. friendly sites.

Those points won't be worth much to people outside the US, as tourneys with prize pools from $500-$1k won't provide many points based on p5s formula. The tourneys with only 75-99 players would have the same effect (unless the buyin is very large, or there is some crazy guar that wasn't met). The change is good it happened more for the regional rankings within the US rather than the global rankings.
  16. Thanks guys. Love the change! Great to see people listening to the community and adapting to those needs/wants. Big props!
  17. Well done P5s.
    Thumbs up!
