Not sure if anyone saw, but there are two new TV series likely coming out in the near future featuring poker players:
The first is Jen Harman in a TLC show called "Vegas High Rollers," which shows how several women use their businesses, money, and connections to exert their influence in the city:

The second is a yet-to-be-assigned series called "Living the Life" that follows around former AP pro Trishelle Canattella and "Survivor" fan favorite Amanda Kimmel as they play poker and likely do silly stuff:

I love reality TV and think Harman's show could be interesting depending on how she's portrayed, but the second series seems like a potential train wreck for poker's image. How much harm or good do you think can come to poker in general from poker stars on reality TV shows? Will a swing vote Congressman watch Trishelle get wasted in a hot tub and decide poker players are a bunch of low-lifes?
You'll recall that Joan Rivers, for example, said that Annie Duke "had blood" on her hands from the poker money she won when the two were on "Celebrity Apprentice." Jean-Robert Bellande also got a lot of stereotypical poker player comments on "Survivor." Or does no one of any importance watch anyway? -
Hello Lana!!! Will watch this show...because Lana may be my newest fav. crush of all time.

I actually LIKED that '2 Million in 2 Months' poker reality show on the G4 network because the show was about real poker...a bunch of twenty-something male degenerates renting a house in Vegas with non-stop partying and heads up high stakes online cash games and then the smashing of various items in the 'tilt room' after taking large bad beats...all these new poker reality shows will probably have little to do with poker...

I really liked 2M2MM as well, and it was definitely about poker. However, as that show was on G4, I don't see a non-tournament or non-cash game poker show getting much traction on a major network.

was a big fan of 2m2m, i actually rewatch it every now and then. Wish it focused more on poker than it did But I understand they were likely forced to add alot of the extra bullshit in to keep everyone happy. I would be more interested in reality shows to do with online poker players than I am anything else.

Was def a great show they should make another version of that with other players or something.

And what was awesome about that show is that even though they didn't get to $2M, I felt quite content that I had watched it all unfold. I guess a new group of poker players would have been needed for G4 to bring that one back.

Agreed on 2m2m. Got to see the full range of steady play and hot streaks to degenning and bad beats.
Anything with Trishelle is a disaster. I'd like to think Harman would be involved in a good show. -
people here are hitting the nail on the head.
is is a POKER show about real players or is it a "poker" show that's about tits and ass acting like frivolous poseurs. the former is watchable and interesting, the latter is just "the real world" / "the real housewives" or any other bravo/mtv type disaster. -
Agreed, but outside of 2M2MM, I can't really name a lot of reality shows that have actually focused on poker. ESPN ran "Tilt" for a while, NBC ran "Las Vegas," which was at least about gambling, but that's really about it. Poker players being on regular reality shows can definitely be a boon for our industry if they act in the right light, but oftentimes that's a big "if."
