    It was about him showing up at a Casino and he owed someone 10 grand I think and they confronted him and he called security and whoever the money was owed to I do believe was removed from the casino.

    times are tough ,so therefore its obviously a huge risk.

    if he really did gamble on house /table games, than this is a mental flaw that can explode

    i say this because i have been there and done that and i consider myself to be seasoned player/person and i understand what it takes to get away from anything that resembles being a degenerate

    i don't think any other form of money/gaming/gambling touches poker in value.IMO an investor SHOULD WANT to know that a person/player will wager on a game of odds to lose AND IF that person responds with a solid I PLAY POKER ONLY than it should be expected that he or she will not participate in anything else[assuming this person has zero interest in stopping at the bj table the craps the roulette wheels,etc.]

    the only way to avoid this urge is to either learn from mistakes and self-analyze yourself or you're a person that had self control at an early stage in life


    poker is a game of skill and i think the investments need gambling habit knowledge THIS TERM SHALL BE KNOWN AS .......GHK or maybe not ,lol i just realized that i jumped a good cash player for playing black jack this morning ......hmm maybe its me lol i'm outty ..peace

    I do see about $260k+ Net profit while he was grinding online, how could he go cash broke and need a backing in the 1st place?

    on a 2nd thought, maybe he kept all of BR on FTP i guess.

    The backing deal was for over $40k worth of events. Plus he was probably backed for the $260k profit, so take out 1/2 for that and factor in some money left on FTP along with living expenses, its easy to see how someone went broke here. I didn't get paid, not sure about others. Whether he was broke or not, screwing over a backing deal is no excuse and we are coming on a year with no payments.

    He has had successful backing deals in the past. I have no idea why your hate on free tickets, makes you think he would scam a backer when he hasn't done this in the past. Sirswish isn't doing anything wrong by accepting tickets, if you have a beef its with the site/affiliates. To compare him with someone that rolled people out of $30K+ seems like a huge stretch no matter how you look at it.

    Just read this thread. Doesnt look good, but there is always hope. Played 2-5 cash game sesh at Rio with him last summer (I suppose this was the scammed moola), coinicidentalaments.

    just go look at how much swish and his ticket teams have taken off of merge in 2012 alone. im sure its well over that figure and just because it didnt come out of a single persons pocket all at once, doesnt make it any better although I do understand your point. either way this isnt the thread to give swish a chance to post a bunch of lame .jpgs again so i wont continue to discuss this in here and im sorry for derailing a thread.

    The tickets are being accounted for in the prize pools so who cares. Also they only single barrel rebuys etc cause of the tickets. Sounds +ev for everyone else. Sorry for the derail

    For further talk on ticket accounts, please post in this thread. Hopefully Will Givens one day pays everyone back, until then people were scammed out of $30k which is what this thread was about and not about a situation on Merge which has and probably will gotten plenty of talk in another thread.

    If you don't know anything and haven't read the thread on 2+2 you should just shut up imo. It is my business who is getting free tickets. A lot of shady things have already happened on Merge and this scandal just adds to the list. You might think people are jealous but the ticket issue is unethical and shady as far as I am concerned.

    maybe we should create a list all of the known investors and about how much each are owed. based on the numbers that i got from him last summer 1%=$355.63. i'm down for 1%.

    For the record, Will paid me back what I feel was reasonable. It was a year after the fact, but better late than never.

    Also, I took a peek at Kevin's staking thread, and it appears his 3 other references in the OP are people that have been stand-up in the community as far as I know. Also PremiumStud in a later post gave a good word based on previous transactions. While I do not condone Will's actions last year, I don't feel its fair to transpose Will's problem from last year onto Kevmode just because he is investing, listed as one of 5 references (with the other 4 seemingly solid), and friendly with Kevmode.

    I should have updated when I was paid. Will paid a friend of mine in Vegas who then sent to me on pokerstars when he left the US.
