So a guy just claimed he was gonna commit suicide in the chatbox...

    Was playing 6 handed hyper FPP tourneys because im BUSTO, and a guy says "Im gonna kill myself after this tournament, good luck". At first I was like yeah right so I start commenting to find out more. He claims his wife died of cancer last year, his daughter was hit by a car 2 months ago, his son was taken away because he couldnt cope, and his life savings have been lost in poker. At that point I tried helping the cause (wtf can I do, but I tried). He sounded pretty serious because he made that comment on more than one table. I called the chat mod (couldnt think of what else to do), but those tourneys are over so quick that they never came.

    Taking a look at his stats, though, hes up $6k today in cash games. I really have no idea what to do/think. Im gonna hold off on his SN for now, gonna wait for a few responses first.

    Am I being paranoid? Does this sound like BS?

    doesn't hurt to email support, who knows you might save his life, but more than likely he probably just lost with AA four times on the trot and was kinda sad

    A lot of people talk a lot of trash in the chat. I told a guy that the porn stars on my pic is my grandma who was an actor, but didnt say much in her movies. He asked for a massage or something and i told him that she's already dead and gives massage to ants and eats potatoes (my real grandma is still alive). I was drunk and just decided to chat with some noobs for some lols. Why should a guy who plays poker and seemed to be focused since he won 6k that day kill himself? I mean I'd def report it but at the same time wouldnt worry bout him.

    People who are serious of committing suicide do not broadcast it, they just do it. Also, not sure what support can do in this case. Will they threaten to ban the guy? That might make him to actually kill himself.

    yeah spot on, i wouldn´t worry since the only goal he has prolly is to distract ppl with his BS, not that i dont care about ppl

    Probably jus some random trash talk, but if i remember right, stars have been known to contact authorities in the past and get them to visit the house of the persons who said that stuff on tables, jus to make sure things are ok

    Its nice that your concerned. It definitely wouldn't hurt to email pokerstars and just let them know the players name and what he said. He could have just been drunk, but you never know really, at least your concious will be clear if you let them know.

    i seem to remember a guy admitting on here that he said he was gonna kill himself jokingly in the chat and stars actually got the police to turn up at his house and check he was ok, was pretty funny reading it at the time and pretty good of stars aswell

    dunno if someone could dig that thread out but i cant find it
