  1. Really tough spot here guys as i never want someones name to be dragged through the mud but i have been left with no other choice due to lack of action. I will be name dropping on 3 people here and its just to notify the community that these people shouldn't be trusted. I entered backing deals with these people and have gone months without any contact or effort from these people to pay me the money that is owed. Any suggestions on how i should be going about getting my money back from these people is appreciated. Now to the meat and potatoes.

PETE LUBRANO: Screen names are PETEGOTAPLAN, PETEHASAPLAN, - My records show he owes 10k and that's not counting any of the 20k he shipped in the MINI-ftops 2nd place that he got while still working with my roll in his account. This guy never had the decency to leave the deal just figured he would beat me on the money and ride off into the sunset.

JOHN GULIANO*: Screen names are ITSNOTTHECARDS (FTP) , 2.7acequeen (PS), Last name may not be spelled correctly goes by JOHNG21 on p5s -My records show that he owes 10K. I will say that he at least had the decency to let me know he was looking for another deal and planned to leave our deal that we had in place and this was fine but i wanted the account cleaned before he started a new deal with another backer.

These 2 guys above are linked together at the hip due to the fact that they lived right next door to one another and are best friends. I entered backing deals with both while with both of them and told them if they didn't like the deal i was giving them then not to take it. The deal i had with them and the only deal ive ever entered was a 50-50 with MU. I would send them BR to play and they would send me half of anything over a 3K cash cleaning MU first, then getting there half of winnings after MU is even.

TYLER T. : Screen names are ONETIME08 (FTP), TJWSOP08 (PS), My records show that he owes 1200, this kid lived in canada and i planned on cleaning his account out completly and close deal due to BF, But he decided to do it himself and take a trip to las vegas and find a way to pay me back after he got home, needless to say he never paid it back.

Not sure what will happen with these people but wanted to make sure no one else got ripped off by these people if it could be avoided.

To the people named above, you guys are to blame for this not me. I was trying to provide you guys BR in order to play MTT's you never would've been afforded the luxury of playing if not for a backer. I guess my biggest question is how can you fuck up what the word HALF means, meaning you get half of profits but need to send me my half as well. My biggest issue is that PETE N JOHN think that i owed them for some sort of coaching that they provided me which is just LOL. These 2 had trained with some good players highly respected in the poker world. I am not saying they didn't help improve my game but to say they don't owe me my money cause they trained me is pathetic excuse to not pay up on the stake that was provided to them. I will leave it here and hope this is as muddy as it gets. I was torn about if i should do something like this or not but i feel like this needed to be aired if not only to protect others from getting scammed.

  2. Jeez, I'm not commenting on this situation because I have no knowledge of this matter.

    On scamming in general tho:
Is it just me or are there a boat load more cases of scamming or have they just been put in the light more quickly after the Girah stuff?
  3. Pete and John pay back the money u owe. For someone to offer u half of the profit with yourself providing zero risk just your time is a hell of a deal. As for "coaching fee" thats bs consider your coaching fee just simply backing them...I hate people who have bad communication. OF course this is all IMO..
  4. another shitty situation, gl OP
  5. TYLER TAMBOLINE: Screen names are ONETIME08 (FTP), TJWSOP08 (PS), My records show that he owes 1200, this kid lived in canada and i planned on cleaning his account out completly and close deal due to BF, But he decided to do it himself and take a trip to las vegas and find a way to pay me back after he got home, needless to say he never paid it back.

This retard applied for my coaching/backing group. Him and a close friend of his joined, received an initial transfer of $500, and never showed up again. Pretty dumb considering that he would likely be receiving bigger amounts in a short period of time. Hey, if you're gonna take money from people, at least have your name dragged over a decent amount.

  11. 2 stories about Tyler Tamboline the scammer and thief.

Would be nice if John and Pete gave their side of the stories. Assuming there is no other side, pay-up!
  12. really sad to read storys like that every day.. What the fuck is wrong with all these guys. People wanted to help you and you fuck them up... Don΄t get it.

  13. Yeah poker has a pretty bad name without all these story's. stars should have like a year long ban or stn so there's a strong signal that shit like isn't cool.

I like the idea, something where people think twice about scamming, cheating, multiaccountig w.e.

  15. Or have a database where poker sites could check on people and ban them or put restrictions on their account. I would be grateful if someone would give me money, some people are just a waste of skin.
  16. Is it just me or has BF sent some reputable players off the deep end?? I guess they're justifying being scumbags because of these desperate times....
  17. Like the sex offender db.

    But less disgusting.

I don't think its any more or less than before black friday. If you go to any staking site, you will see alot of banned members, some of which were banned for rolling alot of money.

  21. op how well known are these players?

threads like this piss me off cause a bunch of scumbags decide to take stakes like this for granted, then just decide to fuck it all up.

  22. No offense to anyone here that has lost money, but I think its a ridiculous idea for poker sites to ban anyone based on personal relationships. I don't understand why people want more and more regulation in their lives. The number one rule people should know about money is if you lend it out you shouldn't expect it back.

Especially from a business stand point they are cutting off their own customer base, I really don't believe any poker websites should care if player A lent player B 100 bucks and player B never paid back, that has nothing to do with them.

Understand that poker is a game that involves money to win more money, obviously people are going to do anything they can to get such money, if you trust people to much in order to lend out money that is your personal choice and personal risk.

More people need to learn how to say no, or if they take this risk they should assume the responsibility, making the online community aware that certain people are willing to take money and run is fine but to bring business into personal dealings please no.
  23. The list goes on..BOL figuring it out
  24. petehasaplan is next too me all the time at the tbls

This is not $5 we are talking or friggin lollypops. its $20000+ and it is not been borrowed out he is using another mans money its by no means a Loan. very different. The thing is if this happened in the real world in different circumstances you could go to jail or def go through court. But because it is online poker the worst that usually comes of it is you get a bad reputation. Absolutely i think players like this should be banned off sites. But only if fully proven as people wrongfully being banned would be obv horrible.
  26. The problem is that if the sites do this, then they endorse staking. Right now, most sites just tolerate it. The best thing would be if staking parameters could be entered into a site like stars enforcing the money movement after the game is done. This would allow more staking in cash games where more trust is needed because people can lie about results. Unless the sites themselves endorse staking, you are never going to see the sites have rules about people rolling on others or being scummy like Pete, John and Tyler were. I am guessing John and Pete are guilty of what the OP has said because they must by now know of this thread and chose not to respond.
  27. Yeah but if sites endorse staking it's an argument for the anti poker guys that people can get in debt way to easily.
It'd be nice for stars(or any other site) to have a blacklist but it's so hard to have a foolproof system for this.

The problem is that (like said before) now there is no accountabilty for people that basicly steal from others and this should somehow be changed.
  28. Petehasaplan is at one of my tables ATM on merge...

I will ask him if he knows of this thread etc....

No reply from Pete when questioned....

  29. I dont know the best mechanisms for doing so, but I absolutely think it's in the best interests of the sites to be able to ban users who scam, cheat, etc. It should serve as a disincentive to scam your backer, meaning more people get staked, meaning more player playing at higher buyins and generating more rake. Beyond that, it would send a signal that they care about the integrity of poker and want the game to be thought of as honest and transparent, not as a place where you can get taken for all your money.

Again, Im not sure how best to accomplish this, but maybe the sites could facilitate staking arrangements, with some clear rules and limitations.
