    I am organizing and running a TCOOP contest with team and individual brackets. This competition is unique: all TURBO (and hyper-turbo, super-turbo, or any kind of turbo pokerstars runs) tournaments will count! All non-turbo tournaments that run during this time will not count.     This competition will run during TCOOP, from January 19 - January 29 in the Eastern time zone. There will be a team competition and an individual competition. The buy-in for the individual and team brackets will be $300 each. I want the number to be somewhat low to encourage many people to join. If some highrollers want to do additional side bets, I have no problem with that.

    Teams of three will be drawn semi-randomly. I will divide the pool into three tiers, with the players with the highest P5s ranking in one tier, the next-highest P5s ranking in the next tier, and the lowest P5s ranking in the last tier. The teams will then be created by randomly selecting one player from each tier. I think this is a very fair way to select teams, so that three top 10 ranked P5ers won't be on the same team, neither by choice nor by chance.

    The top 10 scores according to P5s' PLBs for each person will count for the team bracket. The top 15 scores for each person will count for the individual bracket. ONLY POKERSTARS WILL COUNT. This is to simplify everyone's schedule and level the playing field, and there are only a very small handful of turbo tournaments on other sites worth playing, anyway.

    Post in this thread if you are interested. I will volunteer to hold for this competition, but I have no problem if someone on 2p2 has generally been trusted to hold for these types of competitions in the past.

    I probably wont join this (slightly too high of a buyin).

    HOwever I love the idea of the 'semi-random' drawing and will incorporate that into my contest.

    I will pbb be in as well. I only troll at 2p2 so just let me know who is holding and when is due date to ship the 300.

    Is it 300 for the group or individual or 300 each? If i need to choose which comp for 300 i prefer the group

    as deemer asked, for 300 we get into both individual and group competions , that is 150 each?
    also, let s say it gets 30 entrants, that is 10 teams; the winning team ships all prizepool or ..? what s the payout 4 the competition
    also 4 the individual one, i m assuming for 30 entrants there s gonna be more than 1 place paid?

    It is a $300 buy-in for each, so $600 if you want to play both. This contest includes all turbo tourneys, including high stakes ones like the $200 2x chance turbo, the 2 K TCOOP high roller, etc, so I think the buy-in is appropriate.

    As far as payouts, the general rule we use is to loosely follow MTT payouts and pay 10-15% of the player pool. If there are 10 teams or less, it will be winner-take-all. There will likely be more than 10 people in the individual tier, so we'll pay out several people. Official payout #s will be posted in this thread shortly before the competition starts (or maybe the day of), after I receive the money and teams are selected. I'll have people ship to me starting next week. Teams will be semi-randomly selected the day before the competition begins.

    Probably right up until the random team selection, which will be the day before the competition starts. I will post more details on this next week.

    Hey guys -

    I just got to Costa Rica so I will start accepting transfers now. I am Pghfan987 on pokerstars (Canada address for now, may change to Costa Rica), two old ladies avatar. $300 for the team competition, $300 for the individual competition, $600 for both. When you send please post in this thread along with your Stars name. If you ship me $300, please let me know whether you want to be in the team or the individual competition. IF YOU DO NOT TELL ME, I WILL ASSUME YOU ARE IN THE INDIVIDUAL COMPETITION.

    The deadline for the team competition is 9 am Eastern time on January 18th. I will draft the teams accordingly to how I described in the OP some time shortly after than, whenever I wake up that day. The deadline for the individual competition will be when the competition starts at midnight.

    If you ship me the money and then change your mind, you will get a refund as long as I know about it before the start of the competition (or before the draft for the team competition).
