What is the point in ranking players based on volume, not profit? The leaderboards fail to reflect losses, buyins etc. Sharkscope is much more accurate at portraying 'leaders' and I just have to question why we applaud accomplishments like a 1 mil badge, when it's a good chance a lot of 1 mill earners are in fact not really even profitable or broke due to paying 3k a night in buyins. I think it's time for pocketfives to fundamentally change it's player cash to reflect buyins. Kudos for lowering the players needed per tourney to 75.

This topic comes up every few months. P5s gets only feeds for certain things, and is a tourney site. If they tracked cash and other things alot of people would have more badges. There are no plans for this to change though afaik. I agree that sharkscope is a better indicator of profit, and the badges are just for tourney winnings and don't necesarily reflect anything else.

he meant cash as earnings not cash games

also, ye, he is right it would be more nicer to be ranked profit wise etc but the current situation is also good, a little motivation to grind more doesnt affect negatively nobody :P oh, and keeps the community a little bit more united :P -
should we submit our bank statements or deeds to our homes for a true measure of success? don't be jealous about badges. work on your game and you will get there bro.

JUNGLEPORK! I have missed you! I think the rankings are fine... if you want to see someones profit use sharkscope

I'm going to be fairly brief since I've answered this a number of times... That said I do like to respond to these threads, because I think it's an important distinction for us to explain our feelings regarding what the point of our website is. While I know a lot of other sites like to give expansive data about how much money certain players have lost at the tables, our site doesn't exist to pick apart people's wins and losses in online poker. Our purpose here with P5s is to recognize the accomplishments of poker players and bring people together around those accomplishments.

absolutely, there is no reason to mimic another website - where's your point of difference?, what a douche, keep up the good work P5
