Title says it. I got second in the "pocket fives only" tournament after having a 30bb to .4bb chip lead. Literally. Then he won 7 all ins in a row and got back to even. Then I got him to fold every hand down to 4 BBs. Yep, he came back and won it. And now I see that he just opened an account today.

I think the promotion wan't legit. (Edit: Not putting specifics.)
There, I said it.
But enough ranting the title of the freeroll thread said this was a "Pocket Fives Only-tournament". How is he allowed to win?

That is ridiculous and pocketfives needs to find a way to make it more exclusive ( meaning active members of the community ) I would be steemed if I was you.
Hopefully Pocketfives does the right thing next time. The community here is what keeps Pocketfives in business and they really need to consider that. -
Yea but what I'm saying is basically this:

He wasn't even a member of Pocket Fives until today. Therefore he wasn't an "eligible participant" of the "Pocket Fives Only-tournament" as stated in the original post in the freeroll thread, which happened yesterday. -
if im correct (not positive been awhile)--they previously required passwords to get in - not this time
-
No password. I literally opened a HogWild Poker account yesterday for the first time. Just clicked register and was in.

Hmm well regardless of whether this was a deliberate scam (doubt it) or just an angle from some dude, I think you should be awarded the prize. If the guy wasn't a P5er when he enetered the MTT, that clearly isn't in the spirit of things.
On the other hand I do understand that promotions like this can be a good way for P5s to attract new users, and Im fine with that. If someone hears about this and wants to compete, I think that's great, but they should be required to join P5s prior to the event, even if it's like an hour before it starts. -
Thanks for your comments and for your e-mails today as well. We've spoken and have decided to award you a TV as well, theman. Please e-mail support@pocketfives.com to arrange your prize claim.
Next time, we'll be more specific as to whether a person needs to be a member of PocketFives or merely a reader of PocketFives in order to qualify. This tournament was open to all of our readers, not just members.
This game obviously wasn't rigged in any way. Glenn, the tournament winner, doesn't work for HogWild or PocketFives, so we definitely want to make that clear. We definitely want to thank the 300 people who played and look forward to doing more for the PocketFives community and readership in the future! -
I went out second hand of tourney, allin on flop with open ended straight flush draw and it didn't hit. Everyone knows those hit against someone with top pair/top kicker, but mine didn't. Rigged :)

Glen is one of the many strong players on HWP. Not at all suprised that he was able to hang in a push fold situation like that. Sure luck played a part, but I assure you he's been there before and knew what to do. He has been on many FTs and is ranked near the top in a few different leagues. It can be very frustrating to play HWP, Lord don't I know it. The mix of players that see it as a "free" site vs some of the regulars that play for real, staking prizes, etc., is a factor. You have many good players that play a wide range of hands, and of course the "free" players that are just clicking a mouse, chasing any two. Many multi way pots, someone has to hit! But when I have been deep in most of the leagues I have played, I see a lot of the same players. Glen has been one of those. Congrats to both of you, AND wp HWP & P5s

Also LOL at giving an hour for them to investigate and come up with a solution. -
Glad you guys are comfortable with how this has been handled. I'd reiterate that we reject any accusations of "riggedness" or cheating or whatever. The decision to comp a 2nd TV arose because we were unclear initially that this promotion was for both readers and members. We'll be sure to make the terms more clear next time :)
