A few people have mentioned the idea of adding low and midstakes leaderboards to the p5s ranking system.
I could see this working in the same way as the country rankings do currently.
I think this could be a cool idea, it would give small and mid stakes grinders an opportunity to grind for the top spots in their buy in range. I would also make capturing a top spot relative to your peers an achievable goal since not everyone is grinding the high buyins on stars.
It would be sick to have a badge according to your average stake, Im not sure how hard it would be for p5s to filter tournament buyins, can a mod please post in here?
Im not sure if a badge would be needed or if it would be easier to just have your ranking in your profile?
Just to start a discussion the criteria for low could be $20 and under mtts and mid 109$ and under, anyone have any thoughts on this? -
Sounds like a really good idea to me!

i mean, a lot of guys on the 'low leaderboard' are just gonna be high stakes guys anyyway that are on the normal plb board, and just grind everything

There obviously is a niche for a tier leaderboard in online poker (ie sharkscope), I think the problem would be databasing ppl based on ABI which p5s doesnt have the ability to do - to no fault of their own.
-
I dont think abi would have to be tracked, a better solution would be to just filter scores from different buyins much the same as you can filter your ranking by country and city ect..
-
True, there might be a few of those people

I made this same thread 5 years ago. Excuse my typing i sux!!!!

maybe the leaderboard should be based on ave buyin. hence the pros such as yourself wouldn't be clumped into lower leaderboards. Not sure if this is feasible...but an idea.
-
I want one
-
what about a freeroll leader board too. there is over 1k in guarantees daily if you grind on multiple sites.
-
obv us lil ppl dont count , amazing the amount of hate from the high flyers like even the mention of such a thing is pure blasphemy. it would upset the balance of nature. We dont count , but for a fee we can be trained . till pokers legal in usa im def will never be anything but micro player....grind my lil roll try to improve . tbh i dont care plb no more than care about small stakes. it gos both ways
-
post bashing^^^ still on my p3nis earthdog. you should spend that energy on your pitiful game.
-
i like the ideal but some ppl are anti micro here god forbid you might steal some1s thunder by crushing micros . idk what there afraid of who knows . idk why it scares them.give the lil ppl some credit fk that man noway i want all to myself look at me i got a milly badge.rofl

i think it is a great idea at the end of the day the big dogs know who they are and will still be highly ranked on the main leader board. It gives the smaller players some credit for all the work they do theres micro grinders that grind there heart out day in and day out and dont get a look in so it will be motivational for all defo a fan

I think it's a great idea and was discussed some in this thread :

At least it's being talked about. Maybe some people can weigh in and say what tournaments they think should count for each leaderboard?Originally Posted by Adam
We're definitely interested in doing this. It hasn't ever come to fruition, but it's something we've talked about many times over the years. Interested in suggestions from the community about which tournaments should count
High Leaderboard: Freeze outs over $100 and Rebuys over $50
Middle Leaderboard: Freeze outs between $30 and $100 and Rebuys between $10 and $50
Low Leaderboard: Freeze outs under $30 and Rebuys under $10
Just a start to the conversation. Would like to hear what tournaments other people think should count for each leaderboard. -
personally my vote is with no as i dont really aspire to be top of the micro leaderboard or midstakes leaderboard

not sure why people dont want to aim for the top, ever since starting my goals have been getting ranked, top 500, top 100 etc etc
sure i may never get there but aiming for top of the micros will just stop me from trying to progress as much as possible
that being said, i wont even look at the micro/mid rankings so it doesn't really matter
