Sounds like bodog themselves will be leaving the US market, but really its just a name change as far as poker players are concerned according to the article. If this isn't true, then US players are really stuck unless merge allows US residents again soon.
Last sentence of the above link quoted below:
"It will mean the end of the Bodog era in the US but Morris Mohawk Gaming has been operating the brand in the US Market for the past 5 years so other than a name change it should be business as usual for US punters." -
I think it will hurt the current Bodog poker crowd quite a bit. It seems like MMGC will launch its own software and players will have the option to transfer Bodog funds to MMGC.
"We understand that MMGG will launch under its own brand in 2012, licensed by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission. All Bodog.eu clients’ funds will remain safe and they will have the option to switch to a new MMGG brand should they wish but MMGG confirms it’s business as usual."
I believe the implications are that (1) international players will likely stay on Bodog not MGCC and (2) sports bettors who played bodog poker will dry up as MGCC probably wont have sports betting.
It will still operate in the US, but I think it traffic will decrease considerably. -

More bad news for US online poker players. We really need to support the PPA and get some legislation passed quickly.
-
Im pretty sure the PPA is useless. Its looks to me to basically be an organization that was mainly funded by the big poker sites. They used that money to fatten the pockets of people like Barney Frank so they could have some sort of influence in Washington. But really it had no influence at all. What is exactly did people like Frank do? Seriously, what did he do? What exactly has the PPA done? I think the whole thing was and is bullshit. People on here just blindly defend and follow the PPA. But step back and think about it. What has the PPA done? It's whole point was through money to influence lobbyists and have some sort of establishment or say so in Washington. But it has and had no influence at all. I see shit on here constantly about join the PPA. PPA this, PPA that. The PPA hasn't done a fucking thing. Literally nothing. Yet everyone on here treats it like some sort of savior to poker. We are fattening the pocket now of some new guy who won't do shit. I look forward to him talking about individual freedoms and a bunch of other shit for us zombies to latch onto but nothing significant actually happening.

Better early than never...had about 10x more on full tilt than I did on bodog and didn't withdraw. I'm not going to kick myself over that again.

It's not ideal but to me it's the best option for right now. It's still decent profit, just can't play nearly as many games as I used to on stars. But, I'm playing with a much higher SNG ROI than I ever had on stars, but sample size is only ~650ish games.

Heh I understand. You can't let the perfect be the enemy of the good when it comes to post-BF online poker. I just know when I was doing 9-max STs on ftp somewhere between 25-40% of my profit was from rakeback, and that percent would certainly go up at higher stakes. If the games are soft enough that you can grind out a decent profit then more power to you. I just don't know if I could deal with that for too long. STs are already psychologically brutal enough.

I used to hate grinding super turbos but it's pretty much the only thing I do on Bodog now. They are super soft and I can play a 40 minute session or a 4 hour session. But, I obviously wouldn't be doing it if the profit wasn't there. Maybe I'm just running good, but as of right now I plan to grind out as much money as I can before the end of December

Just wanted to clarify something- Bodog Brand is leaving the US market Dec 31, but MMGG, the company that owns the bodog.eu (formerly bodog.com) software is going to rebrand the site and they will continue to accept US players. Also, the newly branded site will be on the Bodog Poker Network.
Thanks,
Becky -
Before someone asks BodogBecky to clarify, your money on Bodog is safe and will be transferred automatically to the new skin.

im gonna guess since it remains a bodog skin, that cashouts etc would remain the same
-
Oh, thank God. The bad news has been too frequent as of late.

- when oh when are they going to change back to player names- i couldnt even get holdem manager to track my OWN results and hands... wtf... a very sick joke....
unless bodog (or whomever) get their shit together im ditching it forever... -
Like anyone will ever trust what a bodog rep says ever again after what you people pulled with the latest update. Get your money off quick if they even let you. Been waiting for a check from these criminals for 2 weeks now with not even and email response back to confirm yet.
