Does Carbon Poker have the best selection of mtts and sngs? I went to Doyles Room yesterday but their tourney schedule is not very good. I didn't like Doyles Room software or sngs either. I never been to Carbon Poker but was considering trying it out. Do any of you guys have any input? I only want to play sngs and mtts. Just wanted to deposit $300-$500 and see what happens. Do they have rakeback?

I just registered for Lock Poker. They are basically the same as Carbon. They are offering 35% rake right now. I really like the custom ability of this site. Good luck in your quest for a US poker site. I don't think that anyone can compare to Full Tilt's value. (Really could make a dollar go a long way on with them.)

I have just set up an account with Carbon and have no clue how to get money on the site other than WU as nothing I have tried has worked. I really have not had to deposit on a site in years but this is really frustrating. I understand why but how have others made thier deposit?????????????????????

Kevmode, you can reg thru P5s and get RB but let me know how to get money there....LOL, I am waiting for a customer service rep as I type. -

I signed up with lock poker last night. did a WU deposit this morning had the money on the site in like 2hours. first time I used WU it was easy
-
hey Kevmode.
I deposited via WU a few days ago. Was ez and quick. I havent set up rake-back but have heard u can...
It is smaller than anything we are used to but the site seems to be growing daily. They have raised several of the guarantees already.
I guess so far so good. I recognized some p5'ers in a $11 Freezout a few days ago. Looks like the move for now. It's different but at least I still got poker.
Hopefully I will have something to report about cashing out soon! I have a good mindset about depositing a few bucks. I figure I am taking the same risk depositing now that existed all along with all the sites. I had just become accustomed to that risk (as I became accustomed to PS cash-out checks showing up in only 3 days).
I figure I will see u on Carbon soon enuf. Gl... -
I haven't tried that yet cause WU is literally 2 blocks from home, open 24/7, but in another thread earlier in the week it seemed as if someone else was able to deposit via WU online. Also, I think Carbon will process your payment any hr of the day, unlike stars from what I remember.
Damn. I wish I was the guy who knew everything about withdrawing instead of depositing. If I could get $$$ on Carbon easily, any of you guys should be able to hook it up -
Players only (merge also) has a visa and usemywallet option listed for depostiting, i used a [edited per p5s rules] and it worked fine

Kevmode - Carbon is on the same network as Lock is (merge network). P5s is having a good promo for it linked below where you can get a free IPad2 (or $499). Hope this is helpful.

Okay. After 5 hours of online work and finally getting money on Carbon Poker using WU, I can say that they are excellent in the customer service dept.
After you make your first deposit you will receive a 10% instant bonus as well as your P5S bonus added to the account. They will then invite you to join UseMyWallet, which you need an invite to join, that will allow you to fund your account as well as Cashout.
I have not played a game yet as it is Easter and we are about to eat but I am looking forward to having a site to play on.
We really need a sticky as to the processes available for players to fund and open new accounts on sites promoted by PocketFives. Hopefully, this is something that WackyJaxon can work on to make the process easier for players who want to play.
The negatives are that the average player will probably not go through jumping through the hoops needed to fund an account as an easy outlet to play. It is simple, once you know how to do it but I just do not see most recreational players going through all of this to fund an account. -
Took me about an hour to create a Carbon account, WU account, fund it and sit at the tables.

This I totally agree with......I will be creating an account at Carbon (as I hope everyone will do) but the hard fact is that it will be harder to make cash. My bet is the players that are willing to "jump through the hoops" are the better players.
Hmmmmm.....This may help our personal games in the long run......????? -
Merge gaming (Carbon etc) seem to be reacting the quickest. they have added mid level buyin tourneys and increased guarantees since Black Friday
-
Signed up and funded this weekend. Play is really soft, but I'm not exactly sure why. You would think that most of the US players who can't play anywhere else would be in there, but it appears it is mostly fish at the micro and low stakes. The sad part is that their nightly $5 freezout last night had less than 120 runners. I seriously couldn't believe it but their biggest turnout yesterday was under 700 players in a single tourney (yea, I know it was Easter, but that is terrible).
The other thing I didn't like is the look of the tables and I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to change that. If anyone knows how to change the table color and background, please let me know; the cards and background being blue make it very difficult to identify who is still in a hand. I made a final table in my second tourney played (only 60 runners :() and I had a headache and thought I might vomit from looking at those tables for so long.
I think I like their structures though, from the < 5 tourneys I've played. -
While sitting at your table or just watching a table click the down arrow next to Mini, in the drop down click "Custom Colors".

No, its and frustrating you can't.

I got on lock poker on friday. I had to email them for a mywallet invite, then I used my visa to deposit on their then deposited via mywallet onto lock. I've only played heads up sngs since friday, small sample size of 20 games, but at the $21-$34 levels the players r extrememly weak tight heads up and I've had success thus far. The mtts I have not tried yet, the filter is bad and still shows completed games. But for now seems like a viable option, and the 35% rakeback a steal, as well as the ronin challange they'd running w cup points that allow u to earn even more $ back.....my 2 cents peeps.....good luck out there.

I have been playing on Carbon this past week. Deposited via WU ($100) and it costs $12 bucks to do so. With the $10 dollar bonus it basically evened out.
I have been working out the kinks in the micro sng section and they are very soft imo. Support has been good for me. Live chat has been the best option. Can get someone as fast as 2 minutes and once had to wait over an hour. Pending on volume. Just multi table while waiting.
I am currently talking to them in regards to registering, because it seems that you can only reg for 4 sngs at a time in the lobby. You have to wait till one fills to reg for another. Where I was used to reg for like 18 at one shot on stars.
The most I have seen on is a little over 11K players at one time. Seems to get more everyday.
Also they need to automate some reg pop ups so we don't have to click them every time. They currently don't have that option.
But it'll do for now.
PM me your carbon name if you play micro sngs.. Can add you on there and we can duke it out!!! -
Sooo....is Lock or Carbon the better deal? Both have 35% RB and lock has the iPad2 promo? Are there any other differences besides the iPad promo? And I just want to be sure I understand correctly- all merge skins have the same games (just like UB/AP do)? Thanks and GL!!

Thanks for the info--is there a way to search for specific players on Carbon or on Lock? I'm starting to miss that feature. Thanks.
-
You can click on a player at a table and request to add them as a "friend"..then I believe they have to approve it, then they are added to your friend list. But I don't think they have a player search function at this time.

After talking with the rep, they are having an upgrade in the next couple days and hopefully adding two features among many that are important to mutli tablers.
1. Register pop ups.
2. Ability to reg for more than 4 at one time. -
Is there any advantage to registering with Carbon over any other Merge Network site? Does Carbon have something special that the other Merge sites dont have, or is it all just personal preference?
-
Not super thrilled with Locks graphics/software. Assuming Carbon is exactly the same? Can't seem to change colors on Lock? Is it possible? Know it is on Carbon...
-
still trying to find out if all merge skins offer the same games, just like UB/AP.......
