  1. Just saw this on the other forum. A NY times reporter who has been posting there says--

"Actually, the original version was much longer and more detailed, but it had to be cut for space reasons. Regarding Absolute Poker - I was told they're about to roll out a program "shortly" to reimburse US players. The exec. emphasized this several times."

Was going to post the link but figured it wasn't allowed. If you google " Can we discuss Cereus specifically" it can be found very easy.

  2. Ill use my 1 time here
  3. Pls post the link, links are allowed, posting too much of the content is not.
  4. they havent responded to my last 4 emails... so idk. not too hopeful, but i'm happy to hear SOMETHING.

if you're referring to the 2+2 post it could be a troll.

Just because she has 15 posts doesn't mean you should assume that.

  8. not assuming anything. it 'could' be a troll. just like it 'could' be legit. assuming it's true is also an assumption.
  9. id strongly doubt it, glad i didnt ever make a ub/ap account. but anyone know what they owe? maybe it's not that bad relative to ftps situation.

  10. Yea, saw that over there too...seemed fake

but I wanna use my one time 2
  11. Sigh poker players are soooo lazy. She came to 22 to find a few players to interview, including Livb or Oliver Busquet who's post i linked in my above. She then released this article -
    http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/09/te...game.html?_r=1
Doubt you guys even read the article, prob just assume the NY Times isn't real next. Its pretty clear that she has spoken with AP executives but I guess she 'could' be 'trolling' about what they told her.

I read the article and found a couple of things that were less than accurate. Logically I don't see how AP/UB can pay when they supposedly owe 5X more than cash they have on hand at last rumor with no-one logically wanting to invest in them. I mean, I hope something happens, but I am not going to base my hopes on a poster on 2+2 that may or may not be the writer of the NYT article.

The article was first posted yesterday in this thread, but won't merge the threads since it seems different topics are being discussed about the article.

I have reason to believe that the NY Times author knows less than people in the poker industry do. No-one with knowledge of the industry would write this for example. I don't know if the 2+2 poster is the same person as the author of the article, but in either case I consider it to be hear-say as I don't trust the NY Times to report poker news with any sort of accuracy.

However this scandal plays out — Full Tilt and its executives have denied wrongdoing — the Internet poker debate is now stretching from the tables of Las Vegas to the halls of Congress. (Absolute Poker and pokerstars are reimbursing American players; PokerStars denies that it broke laws, and Absolute said it would not be appropriate to comment on the case.)

  14. I'LL SPEAK FOR AP/UB PLAYERS- DEEP DOWN WE WANT TOO SEE THEM SHOW UP FTP [PLUS WE WANT OUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FTP already smells super bad ." AP get it in gear", get out there and do this sh it , i think AP fought hard thru the potripper scandal and they treated me righteous as a customer, i also believe they spent a lot of money on the sight too make it stronger and compete with the top 2,so i'm sure the DOJ hit the wallet hard on them, they had quite a few overlays, they gave great offers non-stop too the players and in no way shape or form did they make anything close too the profit FTP made.....

fwiw as an inside argument that has no value, but i just want too say it anyhow.......... AP support blew UB support out the water, way better,i think i got an e-mail here and there from FTP support. Hmm go figure, company
{FTP} makes a Fortune but doesn't care to have support system worth a dick ,company{UB/AP} that has problems {from cheaters busted } pays out all the fines ,pays players back, and it really seemed like the company was workn hard too show how sorry they were for being duped behind the scenes, they had some kool employees tht busted their backs,i've had them send me coffee from costa rica really kool peeps, that approved stuff when they were off work too.You couldn't get tht shit from FTP ,hopefully there is a glimmer of hope and people get paid i knw enough stories from that site that would make an awesome poker movie def AP/UB was a soap opera full of interesting characters as far as the players go and i knw that there are a lot of players with hefty BR'S so fingers are crossd ,not much word from this situation GLGL

  15. The issue with her statement is that the only source is the AP exec. she talked to. I don't know about everyone else in the poker community, but unless I see facts and details, I don't believe anything an AP exec. has to say.

I trust that she was told this info by the AP exec. However, I won't believe it's true until specific details are released that lend some credibility to the statements from the exec.
  16. Idk still seems pretty far fetched but hopefully they come through :)

  17. for what it's worth, every single email response i have received from ub/ap has resulted in them telling me they were close to paying out. working diligently etc. top priority. i'm not trying to be a downer, just trying to be realistic.

Pretty much this^^. I read the NYT's authors other thread and it does seem like she is legit. Oliver Busquiet and Rich Muney from the PPA confirmed that they spoke with her over the phone about her NYT article. I just cannot see a reason why she would be making this up, but of course the credibility of the source is questionable. We really cannot trust anything an AP exec is saying.

btw tyson I think your second chance thread is a kevmode thread in disguise...congrats on the win though. And my vote is for #3.

ive emailed them each twice this week, neither responded. they're probably sick of me asking them to pay my medical bills from when i broke my arm.
  21. Yep, here goes my ONE TIME!

  22. yea UB/AP, embarrass FTP. feel free to compete harder for your loyal clientele now than ever before. just do the right thing, guys!

    plan b-- congress.
  23. I find it hard to believe there is any chance of paying back US players, or any players period.
They are a completely cash strapped company and can't even pay non-americans a measley max cashout of $250.
It's been 2 months now since requesting my peanuts and still no sign of the $$$, and only bs autoresponse emails.
I hope I am wrong and magically a boat load of dough shows up to pay all players, but right now it seems the well has run dry imo.

  24. when you guys are just talkin about AP that counts for both AP/UB right? :O

  28. There are a ton less unproductive comments on this board than other boards, and I can see no reason to ignore the people that are having convo about why this is doubtfully true just because you don't like one or two sarcastic remarks that agree with the more in depth statements as to why. Would be more interesting for you to comment on the people explaining why UB/AP paying US customers out any time soon is very doubtful rather than focus on the one or two comments that were just sarcastic.

That being said, I did get a quick chuckle out of the Eurolinx comment, and was obviously just agreeing with others in the thread about how unlikely it was for Cereus to pay-up. Dutch Boyd is finally paying people back on PokerSpot type of comments weren't a jab at you, were just basically saying none of these things are likely to happen.

this is the most unproductive comment in the thread.
  30. coming from the guy who has 4 posts itt and the only thing useful you have to offer is that support doesn't return ur emails. i was trying to just let people knw about what was posted over there. i nev er said " OMFG GUYS WE"RE DEF GONNA GET PAID NOW". so i don't appreciate the smart ass coments like im some idiot. i've been following this the whole time and figured some people would like to hear about it...sorry for wasting your time, now you can get back to crushing pokers :D
