Though the statement makes no commitments, it is remarkable in that it discusses the possibility of the DOJ compensating players directly

At this time, this Office, together with the FBI and other agencies, is attempting to trace, secure and forfeit as much as possible of the funds derived from operation of the fraud committed by Full Tilt Poker and its board members that is alleged in the amended complaint.

  2. so the DOJ has $331M, and the players total money online is $390M, subtract the $130M from the phantom deposits, and everyone loses 33% of their roll because that money was never really there, so we have $260M of players money and the DOJ has $331M so they have enough to pay us all back... and those who used the phantom deposits are now getting money so they need to find out who did the phantom deposits and not give them any money for it. this honestly is the biggest fucking mess ever.

I think this all hinges on whether a new ownership group takes over and repays players. If not, you could see the DOJ step in, according to its protocol, and compensate players as it sees fit.
