1. ive been playin' on full tilt for years now..but it was brought to my attention that i was losing a lot of equity from not having any rake back...so i decided to open a new account and play on only that one. Yet just got an email from ftp saying they have closed my (new) account for having links with my old account (made a $ xfer so i can play obviously and use old account to cash out) Know it seems sketchy but not gaining any sort of advantage in anyway against other players and i know a lot of people are in teh same boat as me. Only advantage i looked to gain was rakeback. They have also suspended my brothers account until he faxes photo ID to prove it is him.... my brother plays in $3 KO sngs...this is a joke, i understand full tilt and pokerstars are trying to do what it takes to prevent M/A etc, but for people who know me in the poker community, this is a joke and waste of my time to write emails proving how ridicolous this is...

  2. PocketFives does not support, encourage or endorse opening a 2nd account for rakeback purposes. We know that it seems unfair and we understand the bind that everyone is in with rakeback on Full Tilt, but it's the situation we're all in.

  3. Just because it's understood doesn't mean it's not bullshit.

I mean, how are these companies accomodating these needs?
  4. I know that this doesn't help, but is it really fair to say that? All companies have advertising budgets and affiliates are one way of gaining new customers. If you signed through an affiliate, they are recieving a commission on all of your play. They have a contract with that affiliate and it's for life unless the affiliate breaks some rules or doesn't hold up to their responsibilties. Many people don't even realize that they signed through an affiliate. If you clicked on a link, like here at P5's, then you have signed through an affiliate. To allow you to change means taking money away from the affiliate. That's what would be unfair.

Like Adam already said, Full Tilt doesn't offer rakeback, their affiliates do. If you signed directly at Full Tilt, then ask them for a chance to be added to their new rakeback affiuliate, that we're pretty sure they actually own. Be nice, but do say that you will have to consider taking your business to another site that costs less to play at. If the volume potential is enough and they are still running the cross promotion and you stay civil, you do stand a chance. But do not open extrra accounts. The risks are too great.

Start thinking like a businessman and realize what they actually can and cannot do. Use a professional tact. If yo have signed through an affiliate, ask them who exactly your account is signed through. Then contact the affiliate to see if they have any options. Ask if your account could be sold to another affiliate. Again, think like a businessman. You are likely paying a lot in rake and they truly do want to keep you as a customer.
  5. The problem occurs when FTP claims you signed up through an affiliate but you didn't. I signed up directly through FTP. I downloaded their Mac client when it was in beta. I didn't deposit for a year - which should time out any affiliate relationship that could possibly have been linked to my account. I gained no advantage or benefit from any affiliate for signing up. Yet, FTP won't budget on rakeback. After feeling more and more resentful about this, I decided not to play at FTP anymore and I really don't miss it.
