Alderney update.ftp have requested hearing to be adjourned and heard in private at a later date. They feel a public hearing is unfair.

No surprise. The councel has approved ftp application to be held in private. No public hearing at this point. Pathetic.

Harry [demetriou] received a round of applause as he stormed out questioning FTP's stance 'What about the players?' he cried -
lol sucha a joke. don't understand how its acceptable for a company to tie up hundreds of millions of dollars without even releasing a statement of wtf is going on...
but i guess theres no public hearing because of the gross ripple effect it would have when players found out they've been operating a ponzi scheme like all other major fail's of our generation. -
ftp is f*** up all of us in the a**. To this day I had little hope that money will be back. Now I don't even had that little hope. And still no f*** word. Ahhh yes "system update" - of course. PRIVATE HEARING???!!!!! WTF???? THEY SHOULD BE EXECUTED IN PUBLIC. ONE BY ONE.

"A decision will be made in a few hours as to whether to adjourn the meeting to a later date. What is looking increasingly likely is that the press and public will play no further part in proceedings today. I will be here if that changes, but it appears that poker players could be very disappointed if they were hoping for some resolution today."
Also per a pokernews tweet official news about what is next is at 2pm GMT.
PokerNews PulseThe decision has now been delayed until 2pm uk time

Sounds to me more like they refused to pay the 250k after the license was revoked, and that if they are able to get the license reinstated they'll be on the hook for that fee. I dont think that non-payment was the catalyst for the revocation, but I could be wrong.

@PokerNews PokerNews
ftp have apparently been asked 9 questions by the commission which they have 15 minutes to respond to, further delays expected -
either way it is ridiculous that this comes up right at the beginning, it makes it seem like they just want their money and dgaf about us

100% agree. As disappointing as this month has been I feel it's best that no more dirty laundry about ft was aired out today. No good could possibly come from that.
The hearing has been postponed to "no later than Sept 15th" but I have a feeling we'll know something before that. If FT still doesn't have an investor and isn't back up and running by Sept 15th then they're likely done anyway. Too much damage is being done to their brand with the site being down and I feel like it's irreversible if it's still down come mid-September. -
We need some good news......Sigh
I know a guy, that knows a guy, that knows a guy, that knows a janitor at the White House, and he tells me we will have legalized online poker in the USA by 2012! -
Here's our article on the Full Tilt Poker hearing on P5s:

How does the truth being told impact the sale? Is FTP not disclosing everything to the new buyers/investors? If I were an investor and I heard the mgmt saying, "um well we really don't wanna talk about this in a public forum because um well it could affect the prospective sale of the company" then I might be pretty concerned.

The only way that it makes sense is by trying to take this one more level of thinking-the new investors know all about the dirty laundry and they don't want it aired because the news is so bad and so shocking that it would create a permanent loss of confidence in FTP. Thus, they would never have the chance to pull the wool over the eyes of the new customers once they reopen and recoup their investment.
IMO, one or two of these scenarios has to be correct, and the more I think about it,its probably the latter. Either way, whatever the truth ultimately is, its not good news and doesn't bode well for players hoping to recoup their money but esp for those who might consider playing their again should it reopen.
Personally, I don't see how any player, in good faith, would consider supporting that company ever again. -
VG: my meaning was that there's no point in making public to the entire world any or all wrongdoings ft was a part of. Further damaging their reputation could only cause harm to us ever seeing our money. What I was saying had nothing to do with impacting any prospective investor deal. It's all about image.

@adam: and my point is that we won't get a dime unless there is a sale/investor deal. So in my mind investor deal and getting paid=1 in the same.
