didnt see it posted and it seems like good news for FTP players, but GBT has started contacting foreign players about their accounts and asking survey questions...

i hope they reopen in a couple weeks, sounds too good to be true.
lets hope for some run good -
I don't think it'll be a couple of weeks, but the Groupe Bernard Tapie source PocketFives talked to appeared quite optimistic about the prospects of the site's sale being finalized soon:

I've heard that they are trying to be up and running by 2012..gonna be more than a "few weeks"none of these repayment options sound "fair"..but I guess it's better than what we have now..immediate withdrawal with a penalty?..or small withdrawals spaced out over a year?..how 'bout you pay me what I earned..they should be paying us interest for waiting so long..good news indeed..but it would be nice if they weren't already trying to squirm out of paying what is owed

Interesting news, but "hopeful" articles have been popping up here and there for months with nothing. I personally gave up hope and chalked up my FTP funds as a loss, if we happen to receive our funds, then it's just a bonus.

We're not drawing dead don't give up hope yet.

i can obv see why you'd be down. P5s is keeping on top of this, so we'll bring you the latest as soon as we know it. It's a pretty complex situation, with the DOJ, hundreds of millions of dollars owed to players, and a potential new ownership group that's trying to navigate it all.

Is this the same Bernard Tapei that was done for match fixing when chairman of marseille fc??
If so that cunt cost my club our best ever shot at the European cup and he is one dodgy guy. I will be taking my money and running if this is the new owner. A convicted fraudster the new FTP owner, A very odd and laughable situation. Another day in FTP towers!! -

P.S. He would not be the new owner though, his investment company would be. Doesn't really make much of a difference ... their ambitious project with the International Stadium thing is supposed to take place at Old Trafford. Doubt that makes it any better for you ;) -
Me personally I would wait 1, 2, 3 years to get my money back from them IF they let US players play on FTP poker again. Let USA players play, just don't let them deposit from any source.

It feels like there's virtually no chance of U.S. players ever playing legally on Full Tilt again. Remember, the Feds called Full Tilt a "Ponzi scheme." From everything I've been privileged to hear about Full Tilt, it'll be a non-U.S. site with a focus on Europe... if it comes back.

Our government forced everyone into the situation we were in. We all knew that we were "Bi-passing" the system by sending money to Jose down in Costa Rica (Though my checks always came from US "Reputable" banks....go figure).
But when the shit hit the fan Poker Stars shined through a popped everyone's funds back to them......our government wont see that though. They still call them "Law Breakers"..........it's all about the cash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

Seems like Tapie is setting the stage for delayed payments while at the same time trying to settle with the DOJ and relaunch the site. So he's trying to have his cake and eat it too. For the Euro players, I see why Tapie would want to delay payments because there may not need to be any payments after a year or so. It wouldn't make sense to pay them all out at once and make them deposit their entire bankrolls back in absorbing all the transaction fees.Durr Quote: "the right decision would've been to stop processing to us players while still allowing them to play on the site."
For US players, who wants to wait to a year to see if FTP is going to be a profitable company again and if not we lose most of our rolls. If we can't play, there is no benefit to waiting.
I'm not sure if the gaming commission gave him the idea that they would allow FTP to operate again without paying back players.
