Was thinking about taking a shot in the Million tomorrow so signed up for one of those $11.70 shootout satellites (says quite clearly 1 seat guaranteed). It was cancelled due to 'insufficient numbers'. I think (?) there may have been 10-12 people in it. Is this right? Should they be doing this if there is a guaranteed seat?

These tournaments normally require 20 players in order not to be cancelled. The figure is listed in the lobby. Alot of sites will set a minimum number of players needed at the tourney start for it to run.

Thanks. Maybe they have started doing this recently because I am sure I remember playing them with less than 20 a while back.

Its possible, I noticed this when a friend of mine had his cancelled last week and was wondering why. So, its definitely possible they increased the minimum players needed and when saying 1 seat guar, they aren't the ones guar'ing it, they are basically saying we will only run it if we collect over $215 in the prize pool to run it.

hmm, the #1 site is false advertising now? I agree with you arthur, regardless of what it says in the lobby, they need to drop that guaranteed tag.
FWIW, they should drop any tournament with a 'GTD' attached, its essentially meaningless, but I understand its attractive to MTTers and its good marketing, and at least thats not false advertising. -
this isnt anything new. they have always listed their sattys as seats guaranteed, but if i remember correctly, theres a note on the right side of the lobby saying the minimum players required

There used to be overlays when they had the 2 seat guaranteed shootouts. They were a pretty good value. I noticed after April 15th, they took those away, and then put a min reg on them on the 1 seat shootouts. It is kinda like false advertising, but, whatcha gonna do?
