See Where You Rank in Virginia

  1. Just joined HWP and so far am impressed. Like the fact that no shows are TERMINATED, down cards similar to live poker, and other nuances.
But You don't advertise that the site also supports the MAC with a native download version - I was really pleased with this version.
Seeing as it is a fun site, why not incorporate hog sounds for certain scenarios, eg, instead of clapping, all-in, and heads up situations - LOL.
Looking to my first P5 tourney tonight.

My screen name at HWP is "Bob69", (AKA, "drunknsailor" "goat69" "navyguy69" "BOBatBPC" ) HWP is a great place to play, it has many "good" players. I have been there a short time and they have already made me feel right at home, it's like one big family. I felt so much at home that I created 3 leagues for everyone to play in. Already, my leagues have qualified for top hog and between the three leagues I have almost 200 members. This is a great way to play. League against League. Once you find a few leagues you like, stick with them, fight your way to the top five, stay there and get invited to the TOP HOG $500 game. If you join my leagues good luck, because you will have to outplay me for a spot in my top five... LMAO! Again HOGWILDPOKER is the best site I have ever played at! Thank you Jeff, Greg, Nick and the rest of the staff for having me. Also, the support system is fantastic, I sent a message for assistance to Greg and within 5 minutes he had already repsonded to me. Now if that isn't great customer service then I don't know what is. I couldn't be more pleased! (well, unless i win top hog) lmao...

Looks like Hogswild are multi-accounting on p5's!

  3. Thank you hjwapy & welcome to our site. Great suggestions, we've talked about incorporating more sound options into the software, so this is something that could come up on the development calendar in the next 12-18 months. We would probably engineer it in a way so that those who want to use them can, while those who don't want to hear it can mute the sounds.

Hi undaDISGUISE, thanks for the post.

It might seem unusual to see so many good comments about a free poker site, but we have an unusually good relationship with our players. If you look at our facebook page, you can see what I'm talking about.

The funny thing is, we haven't promoted the PocketFives league/contest AT ALL to our players, but several of them have apparently found out & come over here to comment. We're humbled and grateful for the kind words. I hope you get a chance to check us out.

  4. Just signed up. Looks a little confusing at first, but they all do. The Pocket Fives league should run a tourney once a day. Us US Players don't have too many options!!!

  5. Hey zamboni1724, thanks for signing up. Yes, because we're a league-based platform, it has to be laid out a little different than other poker sites. We've streamlined the design a few times, and we'll probably try to simplify things even more in the near future. So if you have suggestions, please let us know.

Regarding the P5s league, we may expand the game schedule if there seems to be a demand for it. One thing we've learned is that it's easy to go overboard scheduling games in a league environment, and fewer is usually better. But not always, so we'll see how it goes. Good luck!

Sorry you're having trouble Mr323. There is a green button on the login screen, but if you click "Ok...Sign me up" it will take you to a "Create Your Account" screen where the button is orange. If you got to that page, and you filled out all the fields (Timezone is important), make sure you have checked the box that says "By checking this box I certify I am over 18 etc etc...." Then click the orange button to get started.

If you're still having trouble, please PM me or email me at Greg@HogWildPokerLeagues.com.

  13. P5 should not endorse this site, not only is there obvious multi account promotion going here but the P5 League games were so rigged. The eventual winner got chips dumped by playing moderators, but also won every single time he got his money in bad. I really wasn't going to say anything and be done with it, but other people commented they were aware as well.
Looks like they are rigging the games to keep from paying out prizes to me.

I wasn't going to say anything either but the times I was at the same table as photokid the hands that he won with were bad. This wasn't once or twice, it happened everytime he went all in. I'm also not sure about the two moderators fishing in the top five as well.

  15. Hey guys - we've asked HWP to come in here and respond. I don't know enough about this situation yet to make any sort of informed decision about whether or not we should be continuing to work with them. As of now we would not change anything based on a couple of posts in the forum, but I would like to know more about this if there is more to know. We take all this stuff seriously, but of course allegations need to be founded in evidence - we'll be waiting on HWP's response and also any further information you can post about this

  17. I have played in a few other league games and there was nothing out of the ordinary, bad beats did happen but nothing that I haven't seen before. All I can say is that when I was playing and watching photokid in the p5 league he would shove with some good hands but also with air and hit. I am use to bad beats and understand that is part of the game, but when someone does that for 4 games it makes me wonder, other people also made comments about it. I am not saying that hogwild is fixed, but the play of photokid and the mods is questionable. I don't know if the site has hand histories.

  18. idk about handhistorys its possiable for a aiof player to run good for 4 games. i mean u say guy shoved with good hands and bad so maybe mods thought he was weakwhen they called against him idk the thinking of other ppl .in freerolls ppl dont want to get runover they want to play a guy shoves 3 times in a row 4th time ppl call with 2 sooted cards . ill i know they were honest and fair with me .

  19. Guys, we are thrilled to provide a little fun to P5 and play with the quality of players on your site. We are also happy that some of you have joined us for this and other promotions. I would like to address the comments and hope this helps satisfy the questions a little.

    Issues:

Multi Account Promotion - We have monitored this thread and have enjoyed watching players comment. I only see three comments from players that joined in 2012. We have asked Dan to look into this further.

Chip Dump and Moderators – First, our moderators are volunteers. They are encouraged to play hard. I was happy to see they performed well with the PocketFives crowd.

Getting Money in Bad - Our contest was not a one night contest but a contest that accumulated points over 4 tournaments. Everyone has a lucky night from time to time.

Rigging games to keep from paying BuckOfama - We have to pay someone, may as well be you.

I want you to know that we take these types of issues very seriously. As champstone said, we pay the winners on time. We have no reason and gain no benefit from rigging in any way. We have reviewed the hands, talked with some of the players and are very satisfied with the integrity of our site. Unfortunately, sometimes the odds don't go your way. Regardless, we encourage you to continue to play and see for yourself.

I want to thank you for being a part of HogWildPoker. We hope you continue to play. I would like to encourage you to win one of our Monthly $500 Staking Packages or our 2012 WSOP Main Event Package.

    Very best regards,

Jeff Amrein, CEO HogWild Poker (HalfBoatJeff, P5er since 2009)

I am not going to say that it is rigged, because I do not think it is. I like the site and I think the concept is very interesting and fun. However, I know exactly what you are talking about here, there were probably 4 times I saw in the last two league tournaments where photokid was all in early in the tournament and was either dominated or got it in like kk v 88 and he would hit his set of 8s, pair up, or hit a flush on the river. Its pretty interesting that he was able to play in this manner and over the course of 4 tournaments he finished: 1st, 4th, 3rd, and 3rd with all 4 tournaments having >30 players. Then there was one instance where he played a hand heads up with a mod in which photokid held k3off, and they both got roughly all their chips in and he won with a pair of 3s with three being the lowest community card. The hand looked so fishy and multiple people commented on it as the pattern of betting did look like chip dumping. I believe this is what buckofama is referring to when he talks about chip dumping. Just wanted to say that I noticed this too, but I am pretty sure that it can be explained by the fact that it is a free site so the play is going to be much more loose.

  22. Greg, looking forward to playing more on HW, partly because I think real money poker online in the US is just about over! (for a while) I like many features and especially the card look thingy. I play live as often as possible and this feature absolutely adds a new tell for online poker play. However the Tourny & info pages are a bit cluttered. Nothing I can't handle but it just seems like you could clean it up some and we could find games easier. Last night I was trying to find the Staking tourney and struggled with it. It appeared that it had been changed or something. I thought I registered and then it appeared I had not, tried again. Gave up. I re-upped with PPA so I am looking forward to playing the series with my PPA points (if I ever get them, have not recieved a ID number from them yet) I have never really cared for non real money sites but this definitely has a different look, feel and play. Get my WSOP package ready!

Bty, my take on the questionable play. I've seen some funny stuff as well but I think we will see this change as more (better) players come on board. You want to see a free site that looks rigged, try ClubWPT! The "mods" may have been just trying to gang up and bust the donk out. I never cheated a hand in my life, but when I see someone throwing chips at every hand and hitting, eventually I just start throwing back! What else can you do, really?

  23. Thanks for signing up G2thV and I appreciate the comments. We don't disagree with you about the app layout, and we're considering different approaches for the future. If you have suggestions you can post them here or email Support@HogWildPokerLeagues.com. We pay close attention to design input from players, that's how we came up with the idea for dealing the cards down (when you peek, the cards light up to the other players).

Good luck in the Staking Series!

  24. Greg, over the weekend I paid the $15 to join PPA. The transaction was approved but I cannot get ANY reply from them. I tried to call andjust sent an email. There has been no confirmation email and I cannot log in to PPA site with username and password. Obviously I need a Member ID # to get my points. You have any suggestions? Is it typical that they take a while to respond?

OK, NEVERMIND!!! Got a very quick reply to my email! Reset everything for me. Good job PPA!

  26. Just letting whoever handles the software at HWP know, Im playing in the $200 freeroll right now and I get hit with the big and small blind, get moved to a new table to the utg position. On the bottom of the screen it says waiting for dealer to pass, but instead of the blinds skipping me I get hit with the big and small blind immediately again. May be a glitch?

I also got hit with the Big Blind and Small blind not (2) but (3) consecutive times. Moving from table to table. I was the BB and SB then moved directly to the next table into BB and SB and as soon as that one was through I got moved again into the BB and SB. This has also happened at least two other times but was only (2) consecutive times on those occasions. This seriously henders a poker game especially when the blinds are large and your stack is short. I posted on (Report a problem) yesterday but have not recieved a reply yet.
