  2. Will most likely just shut down the use of credit cards in Australia. Other payment options will be made available.
  3. this is terrible

  4. seriously what the fuck is wrong with the world
  5. Nick Xenophon is a try hard senator who has no other way of making his mark on the political landscape in Australia. He can take his do-gooding ways and (well, you know what he can do).
  6. Wasn't it made illegal here years ago?

Says something about limiting the maximum "credit card bet" from $10 to $1. Whatever the fuck that means.

Most likely the law will pass and nothing happens at all.

It is illegal for a company to provide the facility for Australians to gamble online. This includes all sports betting.

The proposal is to limit the maximum pokies bet to $1 from $10 not credit car bets.

If this is passed, all sites will likely stop taking funds via Australian issued credit(and debit) cards but you should still be able to fund accounts via direct transfers and other services such as E-Wallets.

  10. Thanks for clearing it up Bomb.
  11. I also need to add that it is NOT ILLEGAL for an Australian to play poker online.

It is only illegal for a company to allow Australian players. There is absolutely no consequence for Australian players.

Interesting then that TAB online allows you to punt on horses and sports (TAB is probably biggest betting agency in Australia - for non Australian readers).

Yeah but I can't help but think that this has something to do with the fact we have a gov dept for horse racing.

i know I've missed some info here but I'll try to find where I got it from.

    EDIT:
OK so I got it very wrong.

Sports Betting is "legal" whilst it is "illegal" to provide Casino games and poker type games to residents of Australia.

Again it is not "illegal" for an Australian resident to use these services.
