I don't care if your outside of the U.S.. I don't think anyone is going to see they're funds for a long time if any. I'm not even going to bother trying to cash out, and I live in canada. I think all accounts will be frozen, and they will have no way of paying anyone...
I hope I"m wrong. -
I cashed out on PStars via echeck and was told my cashout was processed and approved. Why are people advising against cashing out?
-
Thanks f
Thanks for your baseless opinion -

Sorry but nope. -
I tend to feel the same as MMM here. Also my cashout with FTP yesterday seems to be working, won't know for a couple of days to see the money in the account though.

that's not accurate at all. If the charges hold and the parties indicted are found guilty in court that money can and likely will be confiscated. Not to mention the chance that the US gov't wins without a settlement and gets a 3 billion dollars they are seeking. There is no FDIC that protects us from these sites going belly up or being convicted of money laundering and fraud.... if that happens you can be almost certain money in us customers accounts will be siezed by the gov't. We trust these sites with our money on a good faith basis, and nothing more.... tbh Those accts u speak of belong to pokerstars/ftp not us....and if the gov't seizes their $$$ there is nothing stopping them from seizing that as well... -
The government of the countries where the money is sitting would have to agree to this. This is unlikely to happen in my opinion.

All i know is that I deposited two poker stars checks into my bank on 4.4.11 they cleared and were available for two weeks.... Yesterday ALL of the money was taken back out by them..... My bank said there are normally details noted . There are none here.

WHEN CAUSE I JUST DID FOR 2K ABOUT 2 WEKS AGO RECIEVED MY SINGAPORE CHECK AN IT FIN BOUNCED AN ITS NOT BAACK IN MY ACCOUNT
-
I don't know about pokerstars, but I made a withdrawal from Full Tilt yesterday, and the funds were in my Neteller account instantly. I see no reason to panic as there should be no reason Stars and Tilt cannot continue providing service to players outside the US.
-
+1 on FTP, approved a withdrawal request.

all non usa money is safe.
im glad i live in a free country.
over 211k players on stars at present, with the warm up at $554k and rising. -
This is what I have heard from two friends also. I withdrew from PS yesterday. Says check is on the way. Doubt it will be good, or that depositing is even a good idea at this point.

FTP would not let me cash out, and now I can not log in. They still claim they have sent 2 Withdrawals from FEB 12th and 19th for almost 2k. They have not responded to any emails regarding these cash outs since March 28th.
I have a feeling the initial stance is sure your money is fine, we will send checks, and the DOJ will happily take the money as they have been for some time now. I am in the boat that at least in Full Tilt land you can write off your funds and save some worries. Nothing they have been doing was to help us as players, that is not going to change now imo. -
exact same scenario with me. i called my bank and no details available, but normally there are.
i deposited check on or about 4/8/11 4/16/11 funds were removed. -
I cashed out on Friday when I heard the news and it was insta-approved by stars and in my instadebit account minutes later.
-
Won't be closed even though people residing outside the US have already cashed out from sites without problems.
-
True, but anything can happen a month from now to everyone. If I was a gambling man ;) I would not bet even at 20-1 though there will be problems with residents in Poker friendly countries from having long-term cashing problems. However, if you told me 2 weeks ago that US players would be locked out with NO notice from FTP/stars/Cereus, I would have laughed at that as well.

If an American player relocates will their $$$ still be frozen since it was won while playing in the US?

I guess that's kind of a dumb question I suppose once you get your new IP address and prove your new residency then all is well again. Would be weird to actually be able to play again it would be like breaking free of the chains and being a free man again. I'm not a #, I'm a free man!!!!
If anybody is talking about setting up some poker houses abroad I'd be highly interested. -
Edited By: wackyJaxon Apr 17th, 2011 at 07:39 PMI would believe not (as in my opinion, no facts), as the problem wasn't with winning and losing, it was with depositing and withdrawing. stars is offering high profile players relocation packages, so would find it hard to believe that you wouldn't instantly have access to your funds if you moved and had proof of residency.Originally Posted by slizza420

I "cashed out" of PS on late Friday night, got an email confirmation, but no funds as of yet. Cannot cash out at FTP, still can play at AP, as of 30 minutes ago, small BR so no worries, will just "gamble" that up.

these things about cleared money in people's bank accounts being taken out is truly scary....ive had several thousand dollars of cashouts go through right before all this shit went down, in fact i had one go into my bank account in the wee hours of thursday night/black friday morning. i'm seriously considering taking all the money out of my account and closing it. i just can't afford to lose money ive already made, esp since my income stream seems to have stopped. thoughts?
and ftr that f*(*ing smiley face in the title of this thread tilts the shit out of me. -
Edited By: wackyJaxon Apr 17th, 2011 at 08:37 PMNot a bad idea. Although if you wind up with an overdraft on a closed account you might then have future problems with opening accounts at a later point in your life.Originally Posted by clemsonrich

You should take the money imo. If it does end up happening like Wacky says, put it off for a year and they will sell the debt to someone that will let you pay it off with at least 30% discount.

As far as opening a new bank account. It wont be a problem at all, most banks will set you up an account just like they would anyone else. Any bank that wouldnt, would be more than happy to give you a "second chance" account, which would basically just a few restrictions that a normal account wouldnt have i.e. withdrawl limts, spending limits etc. Keep it in good standing for 6 months and you will be right back to a normal account with said bank
