So im having an issue with 5dimes poker and in order for them to "look into resolving it" , they are requiring me to give them my password.

I just don't seem to recall any other site asking for that?
Thoughts?
(I realize I can change it, but this seemed odd to me.)
BTW..the issue was I signed up for 4 NLHE sngs, and while everyone else at the table was playing NL...my only option was LIMIT poker when it came my turn to act.
WTF??? -
I am not sure if it was their site, but think it was where last year I was verifying something on the site, and they asked for my password. Then they said, they already knew what it was and gave out some random characters for it when I asked to make sure they could see the entire password before I gave it out. I wound up giving it to the rep since they weren't going to help me unless I did, then quickly changed my password when we got out of the live chat.
Whatever site it was (I think it was 5dimes, but it could have been somewhere else), I quickly cashed out after this incident as I felt my account was compromised. -
yeah there should be no reason for them to ask that. Id leave as soon as you can knowing some random person can just log into my account and do what they please. So what if that employee got fired for some reason and decided to log into players account, run up your credit card, dump the funds and off they go.

Renee: Hello. How may I assist you today?
Michael: there is no credit card deposit option?
Renee: Account and password please
Michael: hmm as a rule of principle i never give out my password even to customer service
Michael: could you just explain yes or no?
Renee: All accounts are set differently and I have to see yours to answer your question
Renee: I will need your account and password please
Michael: account 5D****** password: i was told never to give anyone my password for any account, thats standard practice for any online account
Michael: i can simply tell you what i see on my deposit screen
Renee: This is what is stated on your web page under general rules
Renee: In order to receive live assistance through phone, email or Live Help, you must provide your account number and password to the representative. Keep in mind that the password needs to be provided if the information you are requesting requires specifics pertaining to your account only. Please take in consideration that passwords with offensive or pejorative terms will automatically ban your account from live assistance.
Michael: it says click2pay WU and moneygram
Michael: you never ever ever ever give your password this is standard practice sir
Renee: Like stated above in dimes if you want to be assisted you will need to provide account and password
Michael: i just found a thread on pocketfives condeming 5dimes for this practice
Renee: 5Dimes*
Michael: wow

They are on Americas Cardroom Network. They are run by sportsbooks. These sportsbooks have been around since the earliest days of the internet and did then and do now take a lot of their wagers by phone. You have to give them your password to place a wager , get acct. info, etc. Thats the way they have always done things.. Its not the same as a completely modern computer run support like stars or Tilt. You cant call Stars or Tilt so there would be no need for passwords but these type places are different. Bovada does the same thing with phone support...

You guys are all wrong. 5dimes is prolly the best place to play online.
They require ur password. So does E-trade. Thinkorswim and scottrade brokerages. It's all legit.
Cashed out of there plenty of times and had no problem.
They require a password because live chat is run through HTML and not a server when ur logged in. Sounds stupid but it is what it is. -
There aren't many more respected books out there. Sure they do things in a bit unorthodox way, but you should feel at ease betting/playing there.
