  1. "Earn just 75 VIP Player Points (VPPs) in August and you’ll enjoy the benefits of SilverStar status until the end of September - another great reason to play online exclusively at pokerstars!"

Its 750 points in August for Platinum. Works out well for me, July I didn't get Platinum since took a lot of time off. TY Pokerstars.

  2. Yeh great news only 750 VPPs for Platinum!

  3. this is awesome, i think i could make platinum this month and that would be cool as ive never got past silver.
  4. Dont have a problem with this, just curious as to why. Thyre also offering 50% discounts in the VIP store. Just scetched about extra bonus/benefits w poker sites. Means the end is near sometimes. Just being negative I hope. Only play at stars btw

  5. going to be super easy to get into the vip freeroll for gold+ which will be nice

  6. doubt it has anything to do with the end being near and instead theyre trying to get new deposits and and US players that moved back on to the site in time for wcoop...

Pretty much. They're trying to pick up some of the displaced FT players out there. It's good marketing and stars deserves the extra business.

  8. Here's our feature article on this slick promotion, btw:

  9. The same exact promo is taking place on pokerstars.fr as well. Anyone that has a European bank account can play there. Its 98%+ French people in the cash games, above 95% in tourneys.

  10. So who has actually already gotten SilverStar status on pokerstars?

  11. Platinum first day of the month after not having Platinum last month from playing a bit on a few others sites and going on vacation.

Silver right now on pokerstars.fr which is a lot considering when I logged in, I only had 1 Euro in my account. Trying to work it up for fun when I can't focus on higher games on other networks.

  12. $50---> platinum star, gunna try
  13. N1 only just realised from here about the freerolls, I gained gold star status the other day and have nearly made platinum but some sweet prizepools there!
  14. In the pokerstars lobby it says that to earn 75VPPs u need to play approx 4 hours at $0.10/$0.25, however it says to earn 75 VPPs you need to play approx 5 hours at $0.50/$1.00. Which opne is correct? cos I thought u would need to play less hours at the higher stakes to earn the same VPPs!!

Yeah you can, i just looked at the .fr website in the FAQ's and this is what it says :

Q: I am not a French citizen and I do not live in France. Can I play on the software pokerstars.fr?
A: Yes, you can play on our software PokerStars.fr that you do not live in France and that you are not of French nationality. However, you must log in to your account is verified and validated. Also, you should make the following steps: - Send us your ID to verification@pokerstars.fr ; - Send us information about your bank account, stating that it is held within the EU or EEA, and - Enter the validation code which will have been previously sent by post. Please enter your user name legibly on every page if you send a fax. Please note that before money play real, your account must be fully verified and validated.

sorry about the dodgy translation but thats what chrome come up with.

As long as you have a European bank account you can play there. Normally if playing on PS.FR, I am playing on PS.com at the same time which is not breaking the terms of either site since the networks are different.

I have heard despite the higher rake, people love the tournaments there because its full of French players. I have only been playing PLO cash there. Unfortunately, they only offer PLO and Holdem, and any other game is play money. The traffic there though is very decent, especially on a Sunday. They have a 91+9 euro tourney that has a 200k Euro guar on Sundays.

Think i'm gonna give it a try.

Wacky, did you just sign-up via the website or did you notify stars that you wanted to play on the .fr version as well as the .com, also was you able to use the same screen name?
  21. I had to use a different screen name. I am FrenchyJaxon on the .fr client, but right after I chose it wish I chose FreedomFries as a name. I did write to stars support when Stars.fr first came out and it was no problem. You must have a bank account in Europe to play there, and you must register it with the site as well. Elky is a pro on both .fr and .com. Keep in mind on .fr the rake is higher on everything. Cash games max out at 3 euros instead of $3, mtts and sngs when compared to ps.com are also higher. It also takes an adjustment period to get used to playing with a table full of French players, since the play is different than on the .com site.

As a side note, thankfully FTP did not allow you to have a .fr account on their network if you weren't living in France. They were due to change this policy, and I probably would have played there if they had.

Thanks for the information, have you tried the .fr versions of party or everest? maybe they dont allow non-french as i cant see anything on their websites.
  23. I am not sure about the rules on either of these networks. I just knew PS.fr allowed, and FTP.fr did not allow. I know there are other networks that do allow, but sorry I do not know which ones.

  24. I reached Goldstar and it says I need to get 300 VPPs in September to maintain this level. Maybe just a misprint ?
  25. Correction to that wacky

Full Tilt Fr. did allow you to open an account and play on there before they went busto
  26. Must have been recent since I was told a few months after it opened by FTP Doug (lol) and by FTP support that I wouldn't be allowed to do it at this time, but they were considering opening it up in the future. I hope you didn't get stuck with money on .fr and .com :(
