  2. The thread at 2+2 is exploding.....I would call BS here
  3. @alex_dreyfus: pokerstars buys FullTilt for a consideration of $750m, including settlement with DOJ and full balances of players (330m). I'm impressed.

  4. SICKKKKK

thr 2+2 thread is growig faster that i can read =I

  5. in on page 1

  7. stars doesn't need FT the brand, the software, the pros, there none existent market share, or the outstanding debt. this story is bs coming from a 1st time poster. like any good ponzi scheme keep feeding the investors lies.
  8. pokerstars reps viewing the thread and have yet to deny it. Plus many sources telling the mods there not to delete the thread. Seems like there might actually be some truth behind the rumor.

  9. I thought the tapie group it...wtf...
    Or was that just "FTP2"?
    Anyone clue me in here?
  10. Groupe Bernard Tapie's lawyer just told me, "Tapie Group will be releasing a statement soon."

Not sure what the statement is about quite yet, but I'll post as soon as I know.

  11. This is sick if its true. Based on the lack of any denials coming out, I would not be surprised. From a competition point of view, I am not sure how I like the 2 biggest sites being both controlled by pokerstars, however, this is good news if its true for player balances. Also, people would flock back to FTP if they knew PokerStars was in ultimately in control.

No one really knows yet but a lot of speculation right now. Would be a sick level if not true though.

Yes, this would definitely instill a lot of confidence back in people towards FTP

  14. As unlikely as I think this is, I sure hope so!!! I could use some thousands right about now! After 1 year I have given up believing that I am ever getting my money back, so I'll take this with a grain of salt in the mean time.
  15. On twitter, reports that Tapie made an announcement that he couldn't get final DOJ approval and suggested "external sabotage" of DOJ negotiations. Adds credibility to reports for sure.

  16. If true will this infusion of money be a stimulus to the poker industry?

I still say no way this is true.....but, I think you would be 100% correct here.

I have been calling people stupid if they send ANY money to FTP even with GBT taking over. But if Stars were to ever take over I'd ship a few grand onto the site as soon as the US was allowed to play.

To bad it wont be true.........
  18. GBT deal is off. OMG. WTF is going on here!

  19. Not sure why stars would get involved in this mess especially w/ "external sabotage over DOJ" after GBT seemingly did everything right.

  20. fun fun

I think Tapie's suggesting pokerstars went to DOJ, upped Tapie's offer and the DOJ basically screwed Tapie at the end. At least that's what it seems to suggest to me.

yep after reading more into it i agree.... Cates was twittering about very promising Tilt news yesterday, and a week ago or two Daniel Negreneu was saying people would get paid back by WSOP. and wow at pokerstars if true. let GBT do all the leg work and wait till last minute and double offer..... pretty savvy business move if true

  24. holy fuck.
  25. I really don't understand this from a stars business POV. Why would duplicating your resources to make two significantly different sites open be better for you than just keeping one open. Duplicating your overhead loses you the volume advantage.
  26. "PokerUpdate has received information from credible sources at Full Tilt offices in Cherry Wood, Dublin that pokerstars have indeed purchased the Full Tilt assets."

  27. Here's a link to PocketFives' feature article that includes everything we know right now about the rumored deal between PokerStars and Full Tilt:

  28. I don't want to get anyone's hopes up but....

Apparently this is true paying $750M for it, securing $300M in players funds and a payout to the DoJ.

I wondered what happened to GBT, then there was this statement.

GBT: "our efforts to obtain final DoJ approval to acquire the assets of Full Tilt Poker have ended without success"

This would make sense because he probably couldn't secure any US licenses in any case because of his slightly shady past with FC Marseille and Adidas. The Willam Hill Group is also having problems getting an online Nevada license because of the level of scrutiny needed.

I strongly suspect though that FTP would be a US based online provider since most of its accounts were in the US. There is no need for stars to have 2 global companies but it would also shore up any competition.

    Your thoughts please.
