The person that posted that has apparently taken $1,500 worth of bets and has promised to never post another 'source' post ever again if he's wrong this time.
-
IDK, I didn't follow it that closely but I saw the amount posted along the way. His sn is 'Chinamaniac' and he's got a lousy track record as far a source predictions go but claims to be dead on this time. I think he loses if PS doesn't announce the purchase by the end of the month.
-
I would have had him put up his 2p2 account lol
If He's wrong again then drop the Perma Ban Hammer on him. He may not be too quick to post his failures if He has to put that up. -
I am on the other site and This fellah has now posted that the Deal will be done may 23rd.

"Of course, this is still all rumor and a heavy dose of speculation at this point, but with so many different outlets reporting basically the same thing it seems like this is the most credible (and perhaps last) chance players will get to see some resolution when it comes to Full Tilt Poker."
HAHAHAHAHAHA, so the article is nothing, just repeating all the rumors. This thread needs to end until something official is announced. Enough with the teasers. -

READ! Same guy. His predictions are right .00001 % of the time. -
Has anything moved forward on this? I haven't seen anything in weeks about this, or was it all a rumor
-
something is suppose to happen tomorrow or the 23rd or 24th at the latest, well at least what some guy on 2p2 said and has bet around 2k on it
-
and tbh, the next time we actaully hear anything worth hearing it will be on the front of p5's so dont even bother with these threads its always a let down.

Kentucky doesn't mind taking my money when I bet on the derby, but it's terrible if I want to play online poker. Wake up KY.
-
I've done some back-checking on this and my sources dispute Adam's sources. The folks I have talked to say that Kentucky is not holding the deal up. Not sure exactly where the truth lies and what is holding a deal up, if anything. PocketFives will definitely keep you posted with whatever we can find out.

Greed and stubborn ignorance is whats holding up the deal...

I'm not super politically knowledgeable but is it even possible for a single state to hold up or stop something like this on a federal level? I've learned a lot about politics since BF.

I'd need a lawyer to translate this to legalize, but basically Kentucky claims to have unfinished business with these companies. So they'd essentially say that the slate can't be wiped clean until they get what they claim they're owed. I don't really believe that either the DOJ or the state would trump the other in something like this, but a lawyer would know better
-
Thanks for the info that makes sense sorta.. The "unfinished business" they're talkin about would be the domain name seizures or something along those lines a couple few years back I'm guessing? Horse racing seems pretty behind the times in general & just grasping at straws to keep their coffers fat..?

Just from my knowledge and assumptions, (which isn't much) but I believe a state can def hold up an entire federal issue. This is unprecedented grounds we are walking on, and so the government needs to be on the same page as all 50 states and how they will coexist with ROW players.
This shit isn't as easy as flipping a switch guys. It's def a sticky situation.
For instance, how will all states and even countries split the rake? Who covers processing fees? We sit here on this forum all cranky without even thinking of the entire work arounds of the reprocess of getting something like this up and running.
Take a business course or two, then come back and fix your posts. -
Pfffft.. Socialism lol.. The UK has it figured out, they have a similar set up govt wise.. Poker stars has worked with several govts & come to terms, the problem here is we have the most complicated and overstaffed bs way of doing things of any country in the world..

Just checking. Sigh.......... No news. So much for "Inside Information"
-
My contact at the Kentucky Justice and Public Safety Cabinet said they were not aware of any pokerstars/FTP deal. Not sure if they're just genuinely not in tune with the industry or if they are genuinely not holding up a deal.

I do not know and I am not sure. But this is a very sensitive issue and if there was not truth about this. You would think stars would come out with a statement and say they are not involved in talks. the fact they have said nothing says that there is something brewing here.
Stars Needs to make a statement imo, unless they are in talks -
Yeah. All they could have done was say Yes we are working on something and we will say more when we have something to announce. Not this 3 ring circus B.S

Looks like Chiamaniac may be out of pocket a few shackles. -
From a business perspective; I'm sure they've been advised not to say anything at all until/if a deal is finalized. The last thing they want to do is say they are working on something and then have the deal they are working on fall through causing negative publicity. On the other hand, if they were not attempting to work out a deal they would most certainly have to squash any rumors. There is a lot of details they have to iron out, I'm sure they won't make any formal announcement until they can address any question anybody may have, I'm just hoping (like everyone else) this happens sooner than later.
