just wow at what Tapie was planning, were all really lucky to have stars -
That plan sounds really bad. Kind of a slap in the face to the players who played there.

The link to the Deeb post is dead, can anybody give cliff notes on it?
-
Cant wait to cash out and rub it on my tittiesss
And yes I wanna know what deeb posted since he deleted it -
1) stars buys FT and becomes a megaforce
2) Stars pays back FT players
3) By doing so Stars dilutes it cash reserves/adds debt/both
4) Poker becomes regulated in the U.S.
5) Both/it are locked out of the U.S. market, Stars says whaaaaaat?
6) Poker boom erupts on Vega, Jodie Foster convinces James Woods/Stars that shit is REAL YO.
7) Tooth fairy leaves a dollar under my pillow, I put it on CaesarsPoker.com.
8) But only because I'm still locked out of Stars.vega.com
Why do you keep doing this to yourselves? -
Why did it have to be Poker stars that bought FTP? I really don't like Poker Stars at all honestly. Hopefully FTP will still have the same software. There needs to be more competition for online poker so players won't have to play on STars. Some other companies need to step up so online players have other options.

Reason: get ready for high rake and no rakeback -
I'm sorry man, I tried. But I just dont like you. You might

Be the weirdest combo of delusional pessimism I've ever seen. -
Edited By: kevmode Apr 25th, 2012 at 07:50 AMI don't care if you like me or not I am being a realist. OBV the players getting paid and FTP being up and running soon is great and all but having stars as a monopoly is bad for the online players. I honestly don't see great promotions or rakeback in the future. Also the rake will most likely be high because players don't really have other options to play online poker because there is no competition. If Stars wants to charge a high rake and not give rakeback then they can. I am really hoping once online poker gets legalized in the U.S that there will be another powerhouse site to compete with Stars.Originally Posted by SlapNPickle

Reason: Not trying to be Debbie Downer but I am not thrilled about Stars buying FTP. -
Breaking News! pokerstars has purchased McDonald's and is installing 5/10 NLH cash games and $1,000 45 max sngs next to the soda machine. Another brilliant move StarFullPokerTilt

If poker comes back the US better believe PSFTP won't be the only show in town, we will have a buffet to choose from and competition will be tougher than the WCOOP 10K. -
Lotta if's. So stars cuts a deal with Justice and pays a huge fine to even the slate on any past "criminal" conduct. They then purchase FT for millions more and THEN pay back all players 100%. All to gain entry to a market that doesn't exist. Stars is gonna do this. STARS.

OK yeah, I'm uhh...stoked for this. That's what I am. Stoked. Yeah. -
So the only thing we really know right now (at least officially) is that the Tapie takeover bid is dead.
Edited By: Miloman Apr 25th, 2012 at 12:41 PM
That leaves us with the heavily rumoured takeover proposition by pokerstars as the only viable deal at present.
The headline details of this rumour seem to be that the deal would cost Pokerstars $750m and would involve the repayment of all Full Tilt players in full. This is obviously a great deal for anyone who has money stuck on FTP at the moment, and compared to the present status quo with seemingly no other parties being involved in negotiations, this would a preferable outcome to nobody buying FTP and our money disappearing into the ether forever or locked up for an almost equivalent period while lawyers fight it out over the whole messy affair.
BUT if this deal does go through it brings up a whole raft of possibilities as to what happens next, some of which may or may not be good for poker players in the medium to long term. It may also affect players in different parts of the world in different ways.
After reading through this post and many of the other posts and articles relating to the proposed takeover it seems there are several issues at stake:
1. Will Pokerstars keep FTP as a seperate site and relaunch it, will it become a PS skin, will they just license out the software or will they just bin FTP altogether?
2. If they do relaunch it will the rake increase, will rakeback and affiliate programs disappear, will our FTP points be honoured?
3. Will the proposed deal with the DOJ clear the way for a possible future re-entry into the US market once it is approved and regulated?
4. Will the new PSFTP organisation have such a strong monopoly in online poker that this will be detrimental to players?
5. Will such a large outlay by PS put them in a more precarious position financially thus making them more susceptible to going bust in this tough economic climate?
6. If FTP is relaunched as a separate site what will the schedules and guarantees be, will screen names be kept, will there be any time or play restrictions on cashing out existing balances, etc, etc, etc?
On the whole I think the proposed deal is potentially good news for most players who have money stuck on Full Tilt, but aside from the returned cash itself I am holding off on any champagne corks popping until the bigger picture has emerged which, judging by how long this saga has dragged on for so far, may be quite a while yet. -

I think you are one of the few that don't see this as a great thing. -
that would of been insane....put in lots of volume and we'll give you a couple hundred every now and then to keep you happy, oh and if you take some time off...we'll penalize you so.....gl.

Cliffs/copy paste? What's the point of posting a link to something where a paid subscription is required to read it lol?
-
I think a lot of people will come to realize this isn't as good as it seems...monopolies are bad for customers, long term this is not good as far as the quality of online poker. However, players getting paid back should obv be the top priority, and if pokerstars can facilitate this, it is really hard to see how the net of these results is a negative.
-
Oooh just think of the new TV shows if stars and tilt merg:
The big game after dark poker where tom dwan will have to play blom HU at 1mill/2mill. -
I don't put much faith in that article

Who else loves poker journalism???
Edited By: that_pope Apr 25th, 2012 at 03:56 PM
Step 1: Unknown poster makes claim on 2p2 without any facts/support.
Step 2: See post on 2p2 and post a summary on your 'poker news' affiliate website citing unnamed sources (aka 2p2)
Step 3: Posters on 2p2 see 'poker news' article and post it in same thread as step 1 to 'confirm' rumor.
Step 4: Repeats steps 2&3 until all sites have an article up about topic, making widespread rumor now common fact. -
Hehe, pretty much this.
