A lot of people compare the pokerstars VIP program to rakeback because you can receive bonuses by trading in FPP's. However, it's a rather low percentage unless you play quite a high volume (supernova or supernova elite). PokerStars does not, however, allow players to get rakeback directly and affiliates who receive a percentage of revenue there do not know how much revenue each player generates, making it impossible for them to pay rakeback directly.

Cheers,

If you're signing up for a new site for rakeback, you need to go to our rakeback area and follow the instructions there fully to sign up a new account that is properly tracked to receive rakeback. You'll then get a % back of your rake forever and also get to participate in our exclusive monthly promotions. -
Hi,
Please check the sticky thread in this forum about this....the general idea is that you can't do so the traditional way, but if you email Full Tilt, you may be put on a list to get into their in house rakeback program. It's no guarantee though. In general, rakeback is a benefit for new players who sign up through certain affiliates (such as rakeback.pocketfives.com).
If your friend is unhappy not getting rakeback, he may want to look into moving his play over to a new site, such as Cake Poker or poker nordica. Both offer rakeback and a lot of other incentives. Just make sure he goes through the sign up process correctly to ensure that he gets rakeback.

I'm creating this thread to answer as many questions as possible about rakeback on existing accounts, while not letting the forum get flooded with repetitive questions that are asked almost every day. Please read our sticky post about rakeback on existing accounts for answers to some basic questions. The topics that are most often covered (as you'll see if you read down in this thread), are:
- Can I convert my existing account on Full Tilt to rakeback?
- Can I create a new account on Full Tilt for rakeback?
- Why do some players get rakeback while others do not?
- What is a good site to switch to if I can't get rakeback on Full Tilt?
-
Here's what they're going to tell you if you email them about rakeback. By the way, this was the FASTEST response EVER from FTP support. They literally got back to me in less than 10 mins.
Hello Adam,
Thank you for contacting Full Tilt Poker.
Full Tilt does not pay players rakeback directly. There are a number of rakeback affiliates who offer players up to 27% rakeback if they sign up to Full Tilt Poker through their site.
Please note that this is not an issue which can be solved by opening another account with Full Tilt Poker, it is against our site policy to open more than one account. Though you could cease using your account, we do not remove it from our system, nor do we freeze accounts in order for players to create new ones.
However, we do value your continued support of Full Tilt Poker, and we are currently looking into organizing something that will help players who are not already attached to an affiliate. We have added your username to our files for further consideration. Please be patient.
If there's anything else we can help you with, please don't hesitate to ask.
Best of luck on the tables!
Kind Regards,
Tomotaka

Hello,
I understand that I currently do not have rakeback, but I also understand that sometimes, after 5-6 months, you'll make an older player without rakeback eligible for rakeback. Please advise me on how I can make this happen. Am I associated with any affiliate?
Thank you,
Adam

you can get on a list? care to explain, rather than just brag

I wanted to post my experience in this matter.
After reading on here, about persons getting rakeback that already had a fulltilt poker account, I contacted Fulltilt. This was in May 2008. They said they had an experimental program, and I was being addded to the list etc.
I contacted them again this week, and they said they would add me to the list. Huh?? Haven't I been on the list for nearly a year?? They don't seem willing to answer that simple question. I will NEVER play on there again without rakeback, but I would play there regularly if I had it.
This should be a rather simple business decision for them.
They do not really seem to give a shit about it one way or the other. Anyone that has experience on this matter please post. Especially if you have been one of the favored ones.
Is there anything I can do? I will not make another account. -

Contact the rakeback website, not Full Tilt. I went through the same problem and they got my account switched on to be enabled to have rakeback. Allow them to do the work for you. Just note that it is no gaurentee that they will be able to turn it on.
But on a related issue, I had my account switched from no rakeback to rakeback enabled on the 3rd. I was told I would begin receiving rakeback every Friday on Full Tilt. However, I never got any money tranferred, so I sent the rakeback website an e-mail. I got generic responses saying they were looking into the issue. Has anyone else recently had their account switched to receiving rakeback and not had the money transferred to their account?
Thanks,

The problem with this is that i only have a Mac and do not want to run virtual pc or the other ones cause it slows me down. Any help would be greatly appreciated... im f'n clueless. sorry for possible repost

Yoooooo everyone. This is my first post ever on pfives. I have been reading your forum daily for the last three years, but have never signed up. I hope to be posting often, and absorb all the help I can get from my fellow players.
Anyway, I've recently heard about rakeback ( I play live cash poker professionaly, where rakeback is non -existent. :p ) I have some existing accounts, and was wondering if anyone knows how to activate rakeback for an existing player? Or have I just missed the boat.?
Any help is appreciated, thanks -
Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi NightOwl,
Your probably gona find it hard to link an existing poker account to a rakeback provider but this can happen sometimes (usually for a lower rate than advertised)
My advice would be to shop around for skins on the same network as you are playing on and open a new account with a rakeback provider. That way you ll also get deposit bonus's etc.

there is rakeback for existing accounts for ftp at rakebackpros.com. It worked for me.. all you have to do is send an email telling them your username and that you want rakeback.
