Will be interesting to see if any of the crew running FTP erased or altered player account balances knowing what happened today was going to be the end result.

Don't assume if you don't know. I accidentally banned myself because I wanted to change my screenname, emailed them and told them to close my account with the intention of re-opening a new one later. I did this because I found out that some players did it this way (purpleK99 or whatever his name is for example). It obviously didn't work out the same for me as it did for others and I have been trying to get my account back for three years now. It wasn't a huge deal for me until BF because I still had Full Tilt where I wasn't going to make the same mistake. But then FT dissapeared and I've had to play on smaller networks like iPoker and Merge, which obviously isn't the same, especially if you are an MTT player.

There should be very specific instructions sent to players about what to do to reclaim funds from the US Govt in the near future, I would suspect. I'm sure PokerStars' support is getting flooded with inquiries right now.

There is plenty of information/instructions available here: http://www.justice.gov/criminal/afmls/victims/
I haven't had a chance to read all of the documents yet, but you can bet I will shortly. I have also sent an email to Full Tilt Support (now run by pokerstars of course) requesting any applicable information that they have that will support and expedite my claim with the DoJ.
If it turns out I end up having to wait anyway, so be it. But might as well get the ball rolling now. -
Statement from Chris Ferguson's attorneys via PokerNews:
"This settlement is great news for poker players worldwide, and particularly in the US. But Chris Ferguson is not in a position to comment at this time as he has not yet resolved his individual civil case with SDNY and the settlement discussions — while extremely positive and productive — must remain private and confidential at this time." -
"pokerstars shared some insight as to the future of its new brand: "We will operate Full Tilt as a separate brand, giving players another leading and trusted platform to enjoy the game. The re-launched Full Tilt site will bring back the innovative features, the authentic poker, and the cutting-edge software that made it so popular with millions of players worldwide."

Can I transfer my FTP funds to an account on pokerstars?
We hope to have the functionality in place to allow inter-site transfers between Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars, so that you can enjoy playing again on either platform of your choosing. We will provide additional guidance on this in the coming weeks.

how does one get banned for life on these sites?
I mean cheating is the obvious answer...but if you did not cheat than you must have multiple warning for intolerable threats to others playing.
just curious..but for another thread i guess.
PLuv... reread the quote ...that you quoted... the guy said its a self made ban for life... so ya he didnt have to do anything other then ban himself.... along w Mr ted STRETCH I agree... some need to step up the reading skillz b4 posting... -

It looks like stars will run FTP as a seperate site. So it will be a Stars jr, only in FTP coating. I fucking love this! I do miss a lot of the tournaments on my favorite site! -

What happens to my Full Tilt loyalty rewards?

We are reviewing all previous Full Tilt reward programs and will provide more details on plans for these programs in the near future. We intend to have a fair resolution for players with accumulated points and other rewards under the program. -
Despite this good news, I won't be able to play Midnight Madness anytime soon.

probably posted here already, but I LOVE this:
"Q:Does this mean Americans can play real-money online poker on pokerstars?
A:No. Under the terms of our agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice, we will not offer real money online poker in the U.S. and related territories until such time as there is regulation and licensing permitting this. The agreement does expressly allow for both PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker brands to apply for such licenses in the U.S. and related territories whenever they are offered." -

If you send the cheque back then they should credit your account back.
If you still have the cheque it obv hasn't been cashed yet. -
Full statement from Ray Bitar via CardPlayer:
“For the past 15 months, I have worked hard on possible solutions to get players repaid. It has been a very long road, with lots of bumps along the way, but I am glad we have gotten to the end. I only wish that we could have resolved the situation much sooner.”
“Today’s settlement also ends the U.S. government’s legal case against the Full Tilt companies. I am glad that this chapter has closed. I would like to thank the company’s many dedicated employees who helped achieve this result. It has been a pleasure working at Full Tilt and I am grateful for the many friendships and memories that I made there. I wish everyone in the Full Tilt family success in their future endeavors.”
