I think the issue is were the accounts orginiated, I saw in the big thread the other day that a few people whos accounts were registered to a US address but were currently located abroad somewhere were still unable to play. I belive a proxy server like anonymizer or others could work to allow you to play within the US if you had an account registered to a foreign address. It wouldnt be too hard to create such an account however I think the problem would come when trying to cash out when you need to perform an ID verification you would need to be able to provide a foreign government issued ID that matched the address listed on your poker account... First person to set up this kind of service that provides all these documents and a proxy to play through will probably make some money as I for sure would pay some sort of monthly fee for such services, even though I am well aware I would be commiting fraud to do so...

it's indeed about where the account is originating from. The first thing I tried when I couldn't sit down at the sites was to connect to a VPN based abroad and try to sit down. No avail.

Even if this were possible, doesn't it violate the sites terms of service?
From Fulltilt: 3.1.9. not to use the Software, participate in or to play the Games via any communications network or by means of remote access, except as expressly permitted herein;
http://www.fulltiltpoker.co.uk/terms-and-conditions
Doesn't that imply you cant connect via a VPN? If you did and were caught, what would Full Tilt do? Warn you? Or shut down your account and claim your money? -
I don't see anything in there that says you can't use proxy servers or VPNs or even imply that you cannot. The last part of 3.1.9 says that somewhere in the ToC document says what communication networks or ways of remote access are allowed, but after skimming the document I do not see any such list.
