I signed up with FTP thru a P5's link over 2 years ago when I had no clue about rakeback obviously or I would've signed up with a rakeback affiliate. Well P5's now is a FTP rakeback affiliate so I can get switched over easily right? Wrong.
Here are emails from FTP today which they say I should contact the affiliate I signed up thru and ask them to switch me.
So now my question is what do I have to do to get rakeback thru P5's? I've been playing on FTP for over 2 years now and I've paid a pretty good amount of rake and I would HOPE to think I can be switched. I shouldn't be punished for finding P5's over 3 years ago, downloading FTP thru a link on this site over 2 years ago and playing since then on the site, paying a good amount of rake.
Also, I'd LOVE to know why me downloading FTP thru P5's over 2 years ago still prevents me from earning rakeback, even though your not an affiliate!!! I'm not sure exactly how that works, obviously you got paid something for me downloading the site or you wouldn't have been advertising it. Are you still getting paid? Is that why you won't switch me over? I would be VERY disappointed if this was the case.
Hello Dustin,
Thank you for contacting Full Tilt Poker.
Unfortunately can we not change you to another affiliate since that will be against our affiliate policies, what I will suggest you to do, is to get in contact with your affiliate and ask them to put you ob their rakeback program since you have been signed to them for a long period of time.
Whether they will give you rakeback or not will be their descicion.
We appreciate your understanding in this matter, if there is anything else we can do for you, please dont hesitate to contact us again.
Regards,
Henriette

Hi,
What I don't understand is exactly what me playing gives to the affiliate I signed up thru. That affiliate was PocketFives.com. Since then, they are now a rakeback affiliate as well. Why can't I be switched over to the rakeback program with them? It's the same site. It's almost as I'm being punished, for finding a popular poker forum when I first started to play online. I then downloaded your poker program thru them (unaware of rakeback programs back then). Now, this same site is a rakeback affiliate, but I can't be converted over to receive rakeback? Please explain to me how that makes sense.
I think it boils down to not wanting to pay out rakeback to a loyal customer honestly. I know I pay a very good amount of rake each month on your site and if you don't have to offer me rakeback why would you? But new players who don't put in HALF the volume or pay HALF the rake I pay each month will get rakeback because rakeback programs are advertised everywhere now, including PockeFives.com, where I signed up over 2 years ago. So I'm being punished for being a longtime loyal customer, regardless of how you put it.
My volume of tournaments I play will be decreasing on the site and I hate to say that because I love the site. I will be looking into other poker rooms who can compensate me for the rake I bring in, since it seems you won't.
Merry Christmas,
Dustin

> The reason why we were unable to put your name forward, for further consideration, is because you are already linked to an affiliate. It would violate our Affiliate Agreement to move a player from one affiliate account to another.

This is from one of the stickied posts on this forum:
5) I believe I signed up at some point through a link on the main PocketFives site. Can I now receive rakeback on the account I created? Unfortunately this is usually not possible. PocketFives Rakeback has special new affiliate accounts that allow for players to receive back a percentage of their rake, and it's imperative if you wish to receive rakeback that you sign up directly through the PocketFives Rakeback subdomain to be tracked to one of these accounts. Poker sites generally have very strict policies about not "re-tagging" a player to an affiliate after they have signed up, and even though you may have clicked through a link on P5s, it doesn't mean that your account would be affiliated in a way that would allow you to receive rakeback through this program. That said, once again we encourage you to email us via our RB Support Page, and we will see if there is any way to help.
Why is it "usually" not possible? From this e-mail they sent me, it's entirely up to you if you decide to switch me or not. Which seeing as I've been playing on FTP for over 2 years now on a link I clicked thru P5's and earning money for you or whatever you got when I clicked that link. I'd hope you'd switch me. -
IB,
It's usually not possible to switch players who signed up through us in the past because players have to have signed up as "revenue sharing" players with us at some point in order for a switch to be possible. I've explained this a few other times in this forum as well....we can't simply tell Full Tilt to start paying us a percentage of a player's rake if they weren't paying us that already. In the vast majority of cases here, players have accounts that aren't under a revenue sharing affiliate account of ours (usually they didn't sign up through us, period), and we thereby don't have any rakeback options for those players. It's not because we don't want to pay them rakeback--it's because it's not an option for us.
Back when you signed up for Full Tilt, rakeback was just a method that some affiliates were using to get players to sign up under them. Since then it's become a lot more mainstream--it's something everyone talks about and feels entitled to receive. I don't blame you for feeling that way either....you deserve to get the same retention benefits that everyone else gets on that site. It's an extremely frustrating situation for players and affiliates alike. But we're playing within the rules here and trying to make sure that we're able to help as many people as possible get rakeback going forward.
