  1. After restraining myself from tossing my laptop into the garbage, I slowed my breathing enough to grasp the reality of what occured in the first 5 minutes of the PS $500 buyin today. Jesus Qntana was at my table to testify the following occured. I get AA in 3rd pos w/ Blinds @ 10/20. I raise to $60 preflop, get 1 caller, and the button raises to $120. I am pleasantly surprised by the reraise so I decide to reraise to $520. He immediately re-raises to $920. I immediately go allin and he calls w/ KK. K on the flop...ship it. Should I have played this differently? Maybe reraise to $1800 instead of going allin? The flop came 79K...I go allin or at least call an allin w/ AA??

Once again I say, "F PStars"

    Ouch!

I enjoy the site...keep up the good work Adam

  2. It is never wrong to get all your money in pre with AA. In my opinion....
  3. I disagree in certain instances. If you are at a low chip count, going against someone with two or three times your chip count, yes ALL-In is good here, in my opinion. Same is true if you are a chip leader and you are going against someone you have a good lead over.

In instances where the chip count is even, I think you can call the raise and see the flop. In this case had you seen the flop, you might have thought twice about going all in with the rest of your chips, especially if he pushed the bet. I believe that you are here to win a tournament and there is enough chips in the pot to make it worth while without an all in bet against someone with an even chip count.

In this case I would have checked to see his bet, if he goes all in, then you have a decision. If he checks you get a free card to further consider your options. The fact he reraised you probably should have set off alarm bells he was playing AK, KK or AA. It is all a gamble but I prefer to at least see the flop in this situation.

  4. There isn't much you can do. Different players play this different ways. I don't think going all in preflop with AA is ever a BAD decision.. if you just call it works both ways. You might see the K and think he hit trips.. but on the other hand, you let him see the flop too. If he did have AKs and neither hit the flop then he puts the brakes on.. you can't always assume he has KK or AA in that hand preflop.. you were a big favourite, you don't want to give him a chance to not lose as many chips in my opinion by seeing the flop. All you can do is move onto the next game if your aces are cracked knowing you got unlucky.
  5. You are contemplating folding A-A preflop next time?!? WTF.. someone get this guy a card calclator for Christmas.
