Yes, a suck out for sure... can't say it would have turned out different if you did, but raise that pre flop. Slow playing either makes you sick money(rarely), or busts your ass... my 2 cents.
-
He was facing a 3.5X raise. A call here with AKo can hardly be called "slowplaying."
If you will notice, he was actually the underdog preflop, and considering the size of the raise rdcrsn threw out, a re-raise of anything but All-In isn't likely to drive him off the hand. Then you're facing a situation to put your tournament life on the line with AKo. Not exactly ideal. -
My advice... start liking AK less. Honestly, I've gotten weary of AK and it's supposed power. Read what T.J. Cloutier has to say about it, it will definetly change your opinion.
-
I doubt it.
It's the best hand without a pair. Period. I don't care what T.J. Cloutier or T.J. Hooker have to say about it.
Just don't treat it as a made hand, that's the only lesson you need to keep in mind with AK. -
Without a pair? It's better than almost all the damn pairs, and much easier to play than QQ. I would rather have AK than 22-QQ any day, and in cash games, I barely like KK more than AK.
