  1. I'm playing in a 2.20 180 / 70 FPP for $10. If I go busto, I have committed myself to being done with playing poker for the year. I've banned myself for 3 months on FT, I have banned myself from re-depositing on stars and if I lose these tourneys, I plan on banning myself from Stars as long as I can. I am a golf professional and don't have the opportunity to play after M I had one good score last year for 4.5k as a micro-grinder, other than that I suck. I try as hard as I can. I am just not cut out for this game. I quit forever! I already went busto before I could even finish this with AA vs 98. Somehow the dude hits the str8 calling this pre-flop after 2 re-raises. Then JJ vs 33, the 3 comes. EXACTLY Y I AM QUITTING!!!
  2. It takes a real man to admit defeat......some people just are'nt cut out for this.......

Dude, I use to live in MN. Its about 2 months before anyone can get on a golf course up there to golf. What the hell you going to do during Feb. and March?
  10. I would quit poker to get the deals on clubs you probably get.
  11. I am sorry to hear about your BR and poker and not goin so good. Congrats on your job promotion. Just take the spring/summer off from poker and come back next winter when you aint got nothin to do. Congrats on your new job again.
  12. I live in Mn, will trade you, you give me golf lessons for poker lessons. can teach u to dominate the 4.40 180 mans......
  13. Do you do lessons in the winter? I know the guys at the Golf Zone or the guys in Lake Elmo. I prefer the places you can't hit outside so we can see the flight. I also have a place at the Dunes where we hit into the river. There isn't a heated area, and we hit off the mats like the other places, but again that's a drive from Chaska. Looking at sharkscope, you do dominate in the 4.40s.

Well there's the golf pro's that play the tours, and there's the golf pro's that teach at the local... I guess the former makes money, the latter just makes the same as a normal job + lessons :S
  19. Dude you are probably making the right decision. Some people run like god in this game and some of us rarely catch a break no matter how hard we try, how well we play or try to improve, nevermind the days we play bad. Unlike some of our opponents we are sent packing on these days. It seems like every tournament I enter there is some donkey sitting on a monster stack and he just can't seem to lose a hand no matter how poorly he plays it. If he needs runner runner to win he gets it.

No doubt there are some highly skilled people in this game but I think the sun shines a little brighter on some of these guys as well. Their good hands hold up the percentage that they should and they win more than their share when they get it in bad.

The amount of times I have sucked out to 1 and 2 outers and got busted or missed draws where I had 15+ outs and my opponent had nothing but top pair (omaha) is horrendous, and that's just today. I've had the nut full house and got sucked out by quads twice in the last two days. If I nail a set on the flop the next card gives my opponent the flush often a very bad one, yet I can't hit a card with an open ended straight flush/nut flush draw with 2 cards to come. I had one player reraise me all in with air when I had the nuts, top set, on a board of KQ3 rainbow. Since there was no flush draw on the board I knew the best he could have was an open ended straight draw or a smaller set but he didn't even have a pair or a connection to the board, all he had was rags and he needed to hit runner runner to make a straight and of course he did. Tonight in a tournament I have the nut flush on the flop. It's still good on the turn when my opponent shoves on me but he's the tournament chip leader so there is no way he's losing and of course he makes a full house on the river. The tournament before that I lose with the nut house to quads on the river. These are just a few I can remember. I know I lost some some big pots in cash games when I got some calls by opponents who only had a gutshot and maybe bottom pair to go with it. This is just a standard day for me so I know how you must feel. Anyone who has played this game for awhile knows you aren't going to win everytime you get it all in with the best of it but Christ almighty how many times do you have to lose like that before you start to think your just unlucky. One, two and three outers or runner runner suckouts shouldn't happen that often. I should be crushing the micro stakes but how can I when I keep taking beats like this. I know people will be inclined to say maybe you are not as good as you think and undoubtedly there are some leaks in my game but honestly I think I am playing pretty good most of the time.

I don't know, maybe if I stick with it I'll start to have good streaks that run for more than a couple of days, where my strong hands stand up more or as often as they should and my bad hands come out ahead on the river. Right now it is the opposite. I don't know whether to keep trying to improve and hope that eventually I will run good for longer periods of time or to just go for broke, try some bigger buy ins and use up what is left in my bankroll then call it quits if I don't win anything like you are doing.

AHHHHHH, I feel better now. Think I will go hit the tables.
