This guy has lost over 8k thru 5k games, but he is pretty much breaking me down, as i am 1-3 against him at this point. Am i supposed to be wagering a yellow chip on top of my blind here? I'm trying to figure out if the numbers are right for this type of wager. thanks guys

  14. I dunno, I doubt i'd ship the yellow chip (lol) myself, but I'm no heads up expert. Although I think heads up has as much to do with the flow of the game as the actual cards in your hand. Do you have any idea as to how light this particular player would call?

I'm really not too sure, but his insulting language leading up to this hand makes me believe he was calling pretty light. I guess I probably shouldve folded, but it seemed pretty borderline, idk.

yeah i considered wagering a pink chip. i think it would be essentially the same thing since a pink chip would price me in. do you think a pink chip looks stronger than a yellow chip?? i'm torn. it might just come down to aesthetics. both are pretty girly colors. maybe they both look weak i dunno
  17. instead of wagering a yellow chip on top of my blind here. I'm usually using that same yellow chip for my card protector, if I have time to protect them before i fold.

okay so another vote for fold. if i only had 1100, would a yellow chip wager be a good idea? or are the stacks still too deep for that? (assuming he is calling off pretty light). If not, what would my maximum stack size be in order for me to put a pink chip on top of my blind?
  19. Still can't tell if OP is a level account or not...

EDIT: I'll give a productive response anyway. I think you're looking to shove this for the wrong reasons. If he's breaking you down, you probably don't wanna be shoving air against him and should look for a better spot.

I'd like an explanation of "level". I've seen it mentioned twice now, and I don't know what you guys are talking about.

So how deep my stack is doesn't matter that much? you're right, i must be thinking about this the wrong way then. because say if my stack was at 800, i would put a pink chip on top of my big blind 100% of the time.

what I really don't get is -- if you have only 800, where is this pink chip coming from that you say would go on top of your big blind in said 100% of cases.

The chips worth 500 are pink. I meant my small blind tho, i messed that up. I would make it 600 on total 100% of the time by putting a pink chip on top of a black chip.

Can you define level for me? I'm trying to learn the internet poker forum lexicon. thanks

The only reason I ever play tournaments with more than 2 people is to wager baby blue chips.

I think they look so strong because baby blue is a less feminine color than yellow and pink.

    EDIT: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=level
  30. who cares when you run this good?
It depends on what his perception of your range is but unless its supernit for some reason this is a fold against a bad player imo.
