I don't think you understand what pot committed means. If you're pot committed your call is either +cEV/$EV (or both!) and it doesn't really matter if you know your hand is behind hold/cold, because calling is profitable and your stack is so short that any edge is a good one. If his range is really TT+ then you aren't pot committed here, anyhow, assuming a 10% ante.

If you knew you could steal the blinds, why would you raise such a large amount? By choosing a smaller sizing you improve your risk/reward ratio. It's short handed and the guy closing the action is playing shove/fold (correct against your stack in nearly all cases) so if you minraise you'll take it down and if he jams you know you're crushed and you aren't priced in to call.
Also, it seems really silly to berate yourself over making a bad play in some small stakes live donkament where even if you're the best player in the field your expectation is still worse than minimum wage. It looks like poker is just a hobby for you, and while it's great to strive to get better if you're going to dwell that much on a single mistake you might want to think about why you play the game. If you're planning on going to the WSOP and cleaning up then yeah, you should probably stay home. If you want to have a good, enjoyable vacation and have a chance at making some good money to boot, then going to the WSOP sounds fine. -
I love it.....I only cashed once for 15K (was almost 16K BTW). So all my other cashes don't count. I also love your math at 6K down. And yes, I "knew" and still didn't do it.....um, that was my point and was the reason I suck.....but thanks for playing along.
Hahha. I didnt say you cashed "once" you have one trny in which you scored over 15k. I see how you have trouble critically thinking. Feel free to check opr. You have an overall profit of 8900. Instead of insisting you are "great" but play bad, why don't you get coached by an actually great player? -
I forgot to take into consideration that you were only 5 handed so yea you should be just open jamming even wider than A8o+ like I originally stated.

I dont see the consideration for folding with a 10bb stack. I instashove here with an A. Sucks he had AA. Chalk up the loss and next satty please.

please continue with your plan and play as many wsop events as you can, I will meet up with you there and wish you great luck friend!! :)

than it becomes who has what stack where/blinds w clock -
i opened this hoping to read an OP posted by someone completely clueless about what a solid player is, and who sucks.

started out, i'm like, 'anyone could post any of this, this means nothing, he coulda left it out completely'. then he gets to paragraph 3 and he sets up a hand where he live misclicked twice in a crucial situation, then asks why? and blames 4/15. nice try, giuliani, but we see through your facade. but it's all good, cause we all do dumb things all the time, and this time you unknowingly delivered a gift to someone you never even knew existed, and it was EXACTLY what i wanted.
thanks :) -
A solid player wouldn't dream of opening the A-rag under the gun with 10 BBs in that spot, but at least you now recognize just how bad it is which leads me to think that you made an impulsive mistake, so you are probably just out of practice.

I suggest you put in a lot of practice either online or live before the WSOP, just to re-enforce everything. And get a coaching session and review your hand histories. I hope this helps. -
Edited By: Diver1 May 5th, 2012 at 12:12 PMExactly this.......goes back to what I said, I knew yet still did the opposite. I played like a donk and not just on that one hand. It was like having an out of body experience and watching some guy that had no clue.Originally Posted by Sagacious Man

I so love P'5 and the loving support we get/give here. To all the guy's (which would be most) that just posted crap....well, FU and get a life.....but hey, no worries. Berating instead of constructive criticism seams to be more of the norm here and I expected it. It's part of what keeps us in the shadows and makes us look bad as a group.
Why should the US Gov allow online poker to a bunch of degenerates? By posting the way many of you do, that's exactly what we look like and are. -
This thread reeks of 3rd person arrogance but with the backing all the same.
