  1. I just finished reading a post at the bad beats section about a debate if pokerstars is or isnt rigged...

    http://www.pocketfives.com/F9487B72-...CA597CD53.aspx

so i came up with the following idea...

<TABLE cellPadding=2 border=0 celspacing="0"><TBODY><TR><TD>i've read mostly of this thread and i'm still with the same doubts before i read it. I don't know if it is rigged and i'm kind of tired of speculations. There is only one way to stop the speculations and that is trying to get data.

So, how can this be done? Well, maybe we could do the following: Pokerstars gives us at the options toolbar (lobby) the option to retrieve our hand histories, we could all do that and join all the sample size to one BIG junk. Then a programmer, maybe Superfishial, could program some shit that analyses the data and get all the statistics, like the 70/30, 80/20 runs, number of times the big or low stack wins, relation between the stacksizes and runs, etc, etc.

It can be done, so... who pulls the trigger?

EDIT: example: all p5ers retrieve the hand histories of pokerstars, hand histories would be then assembled, all hands that wouldnt get to showdown would be discarded, analyitical functions would then analyze the percentages... and then the show begins..</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
  2. why would you think it could be rigged?

after all, hands like this are fairly standard in casinos all over the world

  3. I dont want to discuss specific hands, cause bad beats are totally normal.

But as a costumer, i normally have an assurance (as low as it is) that a protocol or organization audits the service or product that is being offered to the public (if a toy is sold for kids, everyone knows that it has to pass some sort of inspection). The thing is that pokerstars software isnt being audited and as such i think we have to come up with an alternative strategy, that being auditing in a retro-engineered style - analyzing the data.

  4. stars is not rigged, u lose all credibility when u even imply this!
    edit: imo

  5. I don't know how to do it automatically. Once to prove to myself it wasn't rigged I used a (far too small) sample size. I recorded only aipf. I did 3 columns. Favorites equity before the flop. Favorites equity before the river. Favorites total times won. It was very close to accurate.
  6. i aint saying it is rigged... i'm just saying we could do some math and THEN jump into conclusions.
