How long do poker slumps last?

    I've been in a major slump for the last 8 months. It is starting to wear on my game and now I'm second guessing myself everytime. Deep in tournies I'm getting cracked underpair vs my overpair. Or even when guys are begging to give me their money when I'm a 95% favorite, here is a situation. I'm not even surprised either... do you normally take time off if you've been in such a downswing? It seems like I can never win any races and only a percent of the time I can win when I'm dominating when the money goes in. Not trying to rant, I feel like I'm an excellent poker player, the luck just has not gone my way for the last 8 months.
