Worst. Loss. Ever.
I couldn't believe it. I flop a beautiful hand, and get rivered by the nuttiest hand possible. I was able to recover some of my chips back after this, but was far too rattled. Take a look:

This would never have happened had you raised your AQ preflop
-
Are you saying that it is usually a bad play to limp UTG with AQ or that it just turned out bad in this case?
-
Its a TERRIBLE play to limp with AQ UTG...IMO...Im sure Ill get pleantly of flames for saying that...
-
So I assume you would argue that if you are at a point in a tourney where you are trying to play tight and conservative (say the early stages of a lower buy-in MTT) that it would be better to just fold that hand UTG rather than try to limp to see a cheap flop?
-
There is a huge difference between tight conservative play and tight weak play. This was tight weak play. Just about any raise before the flop would have gotten him off his J5.
-
It depends...if you have 2500 in chips and the blinds are 10-20, I dont mind limping in with it, but youre correct, in general, more often than not...folding AQ UTG is a good move!
-
I think my original strategy was just to appear weak, yes. But after that flop I had zero problem with slow playing. I just never saw it coming.
