  1. Hey guys,

Just wanted to tell some1, kinda get this off my chest and maybe get some build up advice. So in advance, thanks for the replies.

Anyways, I am at the micro level. Probably played 45 bucks worth of MTTs. Played across PS, UB, and FTP(Just SnGs here).

Mostly I played my MTTs on PS, there are more tourneys than UB and most of my BR is there. So, I get deep in about 7 MTTs w/ 100 or less left to go and what kills me is I dont ship 1, I don't even FT one.

I do what I can when I raise. I plan ahead and say hey if he shoves Im calling, I can't raise with this garbage if I fold to a raise there. Sure I steal some blinds but I keep in my that I cant get too out of line b/c ppl will play back at me more light.

When I get deep I normally go out on a setup hand like AK vs JJ or just unlucky against a 3 outer or 6 outer. I am cool with that b/c hell I am used to it. lol

Anyways, I am not pissed about the fact but I am like DAMN can I get through this mess? and ship something or hell even FT something.

Well thx for listening to my babble guys. Until another time.
  2. im kinda sad, thought this was gonna be a sick brag post... dont worry though buddy, keep making the right plays and youll ship something soon. Variance will come back on the good side eventually

  3. Hey bro, I wanted to reply to let you know that someone read this, and that I understand your pain!

I had 4 final 20's on FTP and one 11th in a 2500 player $4.40 on stars in the last week, but NO final tables -- and man, it's pretty much fucked my week over. I was looking super good especially on Stars, where I had not been all in and behind all tournament, and ended up finally calling a re-shove 5 handed with 99 only to see AJ. When the board ran 10 8 7 2 I was extremly excited to seal what could've been my biggest FT -- yet a nice juicy 9 on the river ended that jubilation. Two hands later, shortstacked, I shipped it in with TT and ran into AK, Ace flopped and it was all over. Crushing how you can go from hero to zero so quickly sometimes! After all this crap I then proceeded to blank over 20 tournaments in a row on FTP, feeling like a bit of donk right now =/

I've just completed an honours qualification recently, and I'm only working part-time right now -- because of this I am pretty much poor now and relying on a little bit of extra poker income while I make the transition into full-time work. Sucks because right now I feel like that 9 on the river decided my entire week, making me scrape by with nearly nothing until pay day next week.

It always feels like you never 'run good' when it "matters", right? but then I'm sure that no one really feels like they run good. Especially when you put in volume. So here's my little babble too -- hope it clears up for you and you ship something dude, best of luck!

  4. thought this was gonna be a brag as well... mtts are a brutal game u gotta keep at it and keep a positive attitude. In addition you made the top 100 in a bunch of tourneys which is good, but that doesnt mean you are playing optimally. One of the reasons the top guys seem to make deep runs is because they are pushing every edge to accumulate chips so that when they take a hit or two they can continue grinding thru it. What Im saying is that alot of people play so really tight, and then they get "the hand where they are all in" and it doesnt hold. Whereas if you push your edges all the way thru the tourney, then at the end when those hands come up its often just a small dent to your stack. Im not trying to say you have leaks because u could be the greatest and maybe it truly is just variance. In either case go back review your hands and make sure you arent missing spots along the way...

One of my favorite quotes (if anyone knows the author lemme know) "if youre not getting it in behind, youre not getting it in enough."
  5. basically what everyone said mtts are a lot like golf its not very good for you if you dont have thick skin and the type of person with a lot of pride and a tad bit ego and cant settle for 2nd best......cause you will be disappointed in both many times over. They are both brutal and it seems like the more you learn the more you realize you will never ever really get on top of the wave of success and stay theie without a little bit of luck on your side.. ...in order to get lucky you have to put yourself in a position to get it and that's where i think the skill comes in... so you could be good and still never win those big scores.

ive had the sickest last 3 or 4 days if not year on deep runs with no real finishes and im not talking about folding to deep scores... having pretty big workable stacks usually amongst the chip leaders and it just all seems to crash down in 2 or 3 hands with other chip leaders losing flips in the final 3 percent of the field and its pretty much crushing to ones self esteem..... but i am determined to a fault and will keep on keeping on if it kills me. But seriously every day it seems like i learn something new or learn to do something i knew already but in a more efficient way.
