I know there are a lot of seasoned players here and I was hoping someone could recommend a site for me to play on. I have played a little on Absolute and Poker stars but most of my experience has been on Bodog. Even so, there has always been so much crazy s*** going on with the hands all along, and I think I've finally just had it with playing there - the last ten times I've gone all in with a stack that's at least as big as the buy-in maximum, or greater, and been a significant favorite each time, but won only one of those. And this is by no means unusual, it's been that way everywhere I've played. Pocket aces called preflop and cracked by 10-9 offsuit, or top two pair on the flop called by pocket 5s and he magically happens to hit a third five on the river, etc. All of which would be well and good, except you never get anyone calling you as a huge underdog in these situations and missing for such large amounts, which is extremely suspicious to say the least. And I don't want to be a suspicious guy! I've actually made quit a bit of money playing online. Enough to realize something just doesn't add up with these beats. Mathematically, I just can't buy it anymore.
I went through this streak on Absolute, for example, during a two month stint where I was trying to give that site a shot. Every time I would flop a full house, someone would have the same top hole card, but a better kicker, and pair the kicker every time for a better full house. Or pair vs pair on the flop, and they would always hit their two outer. One particular instance I recall is having pocket Qs, and raising preflop, getting reraised, calling, there being all baby cards on the flop, going all in, getting called by 3-8 offsuit - who had not a pair, nor a legitimate straight or flush draw - and him hitting running 3s. He typed HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA and immediately left the table, taking my $50 with him. Another instance, again costing me nearly as much, I raise with pocket As and have one caller, with K-10, I flop a third A, go all in, he calls, hits Q-J to clean out my whole stack. I'm too busy kicking a hole in the wall to type anything, but a few others at the table said the only way he could make that call is if he knew those exact cards were coming. Again: where are the outrageous calls for those large amounts and they miss?
I'm not sure what to think. I did keep track of the stats on Absolute and emailed them, that of the 38 times I'd gone all in as a favorite on the flop, I had won twice. They never did admit anything screwy was going on, although they did credit my account a whopping $10 as a "bonus" without ever explaining why. This was right before they got busted for people being able to see your hole cards, but even being able to see my hole cards wouldn't explain the manner in which I was constantly losing.
Bodog has been a lot better, but there's just too high a percantage of impossible things going on for me to believe anymore. I was hoping someone could recommend a good, legit site where it seems like the cards fall even remotely in the ballpark of the way they would in a live game.
