  1. This knocked me out at 4th place in a SnG.

    Me: AQo

    Blinds 60/120

Going against the Big stack w/ about 2x my stack.

I'm Big blind, he calls in small blind, i raise to 240, he calls.

    Flop: 8 - Q - 10 rainbow

He bets 360, I raise to 720, he calls.

    Turn: 3

He checks, I bet 720, he puts me all in, I call. At this point I'm a little worried he hit two pair, but nope, he flips over KQ.

River: K - hits the 3 outer GG me

Can't criticize his play, but damn it burns.

edit: title from 20:1 to 13.7:1
  2. 20:1 would mean he was at 5% and you had 95%. He had a 7% chance so it was more of a 13:1. Smal detail but just thought you should know.

Also I don't like your constant min-raising throughout this hand. You only have TPTK, you should be forcing out any draws or people with a weak pair so that they aren't hitting straights or two pair. Pre-flop you should have raised to 500. This shows strength and might have made him think about calling on the flop, when you go all in after his 360 chip bet (which again is what you should have done). Min-raising works with a monster, but it shows weakness and this time it paid the other guy off.
  3. Thanks for the advice. I guess I got a little tight on the bubble, this guy had been stealing blinds left and right, and this time he just limped in from the small blind. I thought a min raise preflop might make him fold, but I should have been more aggressive (either way he would have called with KQ, and he would have hit top pair with a high kicker on the flop). On the flop, going all in was pretty risky, he could have hit 2pr, a set, or hit the straight. I was on the bubble and there was already a player with half my chips. I min raised, figured if he reraised me he hit something big. When he just called then checked on the turn, i figured he was on the straight draw or had a low queen, so i bet about 1/3 my stack. When he put me all in, I felt committed and took it.

I knew it wasn't quite 20:1, but it sounds so much better than 13:1 :)

    Edited the title for you

  4. You're right that he probably wasn't going away for any bet you threw out there, but in general I just like betting these hands strong to chase away things like 3 outers on the river.

And I laughed when I saw you changed the title....niiiiiice
