  1. Hi all,

You have probaly seen a post like this before, but just need to vent. I play a lot of MTTs online on various sites and the situation I always find myself in is the tournament low stack (ie, 46 of 46, 203 of 203, 399 of 399, etc.). And it is not because i play bad, but maybe too tight. I usually try to play abc poker, your usual tight agg poker, pot control, big lay downs, etc.. But for some reason, the poker gods dont like me. I mean there are times I can get ahead, but as I get deeper, I always seem to get card dead. Sometimes I can go and hour or even 2 without a playable hand. Or if I do get one, it is out of position. So this leads me to get lower and lower in chips to the point where I am always in shove mode. And of course when i shove, either A. I have the dominating hand and lose or B. I run into a dominating hand and lose. I do everything from read CP mag, pxf sub, got madd poker books, etc and still cant crack one. Maybe I should just accept im a donk even though I feel I play solid poker. Home games I dominate. Live cash games at Borgata, I always do well. Live tournaments I usually cash, but barley ITM.

Well for those who wanna vent too or relate. Holla.
  2. Play to Win at all times.. If you do that you will win.. Well thats what they tell me anyway.
  3. loosen up G...really though the deeper you go into a tourney use your table image to steal more and 3 bet more stuff like that...
  4. Play some 45 man SNGs this will help you practice being aggressive late instead of folding until your blinded.
  5. i am only new to poker but have found that to win or go deep, you must steal blinds and take risks at certain points (whilst not putting yourself in a position to bust out). Check out who is on your table and who is putting their chips in the middle the most with average starting hands. You dont have to have the nutz to take down a pot - sometimes it just takes the balls to put all your chips in the middle. But dont get over-agressive in the smaller buyins - play the hands that will give you most value...pocket pairs for a set or suited connectors....

  6. pay close attenton to how many big blinds you have.i try to shove before i have <10.also you got to steal and buff(ie semi bluffs) a few times as well. review your hand histories find the leaks and not just the hands you lost could you of played a winning hand diffently and made more also BIG LAYDOWNS or BIG MISSTAKES???? id look into that also here they tell me loose/aggressive is the way to win so maybe loosing up a little.i tip a heard here out of position w/ a winning hand on the river check it let the guy make one last slab at it don't bet if he ain't calling haven't tried this yet but plan on it.it says in all the poker books poker is a game to be play by situations not by the book.
  7. You aren't playing aggressively enough. You probably are very predictable. Focus on being a master of the concept of Fold Equity from all angles.
  8. Thank you all for your feedback. It is back to the lab for me and try some things differently and see if I can finally win one. Good luck all
