I find it amusing how people think online poker is rigged...you wouldnt care about the action if ur set held up right!
-
when are u people going to wake up and realize
online poker IS rigged not toward individuals
(although sometimes i wonder about that)
this is a computer they are action flops
something knows whats going to happen
next
they want the tourneys over fast
so people can play more tourneys
and they can make more money
if it was not rigged
the 3000 people tourney on sundays would last somewhere
like about 18 hours
i mean when are u people going to "get it"
if ur shortstacked ur done
they give u AK or something
against someones 99
everytime there is a hand
someone has AK someone has AA
someone has AJ
COME ON PEOPLE WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE
u cant bluff if ya try someone always has that flop
real live poker is where if u have 8 2 u can go all
in
and bluff the pot
every see when u win a pot
its instantly up there on the leader board
i mean before the hand is almost
over
the software knows whatsgoing to happen
whos going to win
and who needs to be knocked out
dont care what u say
-
Could not have said it better myself
You left out the bit about how the bigstack underdog with 44 was the winner of the pot -
I think taj makes some good points here, but I think its just the nature of the game.
I think the online poker sites have way too much to lose if any of the randomness was jeopardized or lost in any way. It just doesn't make business sense for what she is saying to be true. But on the other hand, it does seem like I get handed ridiculous beats a lot!!
-
Its common sense and simple mathematics which explain why bad beats seem more prevalent online.
First off, you see 5 times the number of hands online in the same period of time, so you will see 5 times the number of bad beats that you would see in a live game, however the number of beats you see per hand should be relatively the same.
Secondly, there are more fish online than in a live card room therefore you see people making donk calls and playing cards they shouldnt giving you a much greater chance of encountering a bad beat. Basically people dont know when to fold.
Lastly, think about how many hands are being played online at a site like party poker per hour. There are thousands of hands per hour. Lets just give a conservative estimate of 10000 hands per hour. Now lets say they make one dollar per hand on the rake for an avg. That is 10000 dollars per hour that the room is making. That means in 24 hours they clear 240000 dollars. This is a conservative estimate also keep in mind, and in actuality is probably alot higher. Now I would ask you, if the online poker sites are clearing over one million dollars per week in rake, why would they bother to stack their decks to bust out players and risk making all that money?
