  1. With a guaranteed FT in the near future, I played to win and paid for it. This REALLY hurts...

Somebody tell me what I did wrong so I don't miss out on the big prizes next time or tell me what I did right so I can feel better. I've been good about taking bad beats lately by not letting them get to me but this one hurts so I had to post it. 374 entered and with 20 to go, I was in 3rd at this point.
  2. Thats horrible. I hate when UB rewards someone for bad play. Check out Residence's post. Guess who was on the other end of his bad beat? And with what hand??
  3. Wow. That is sickening! This guy ended up getting 2nd place. By far the most reckless player I have ever seen and UB pays him for it. Thanks for the reply WAK.

  4. Doesn't this make you think that maybe UB is behind some of these players? Maybe a little too much "conspiracy theory," but it has crossed everyone's mind before...
  5. No mistake on your part you played it perfect. How this guy could call the BB much less a raise to 6275 is beyond me. Weird though that he put bad beats on two different people with 9 3. It's either his favorite hand or a signal from the UB server Gnome that anytime he gets 9 3 it is a winner.
  6. While you played the hand correctly and were clearly the favorite to win, I would question whether top pair is the kind of hand you want to risk your entire stack on while nearing the end of a tournament.

Yes, it would be nice to have added his chip to your stack, but when a measly two pair can suck out and eliminate you from the tournament... who knows. I would have waited for a better holding to make this move.

Imagine if he tried the same thing when you were holding 55 or QQ.
  7. Also, please spare the "UB did this" crap. It just fosters the whole "it's all rigged!" myth that newbies love to spend time thinking about.
  8. ouchh man!
  9. Yeah, rough. Thanks for the comments people, much appreciated. To anyone who thought I should wait for a better spot, I really thought I couldn't be in much of a better spot to put me into a strong position to win. I didn't wanna sit around like everyone else was at the time just to make the final table, I wanted first. What if I don't get another hand? I can't try and bluff this guy. He will continue to run over me. I knew exactly what he had and the percentages were very much in my favor. To me it wasn't ONLY top pair that I had because I knew he ONLY had 2nd pair. If there was even a slight possibility that he had a better hand or a better draw than what he had here then I would've considered waiting. Especially after talking with some players, I'd make the same play again if I had the chance but please feel free to agree or convince me otherwise. It's always great to hear as many opinions as possible.
