A couple months ago was playing at a $200 no limit table. I was delt pocket aces, 2 callers to the big blind the guy before me raises to $20 i reraise to 40 everyone folds back this guy who reraises me to $100 this is my 3rd hand at the table i have $196 i can't believe this guy is raising me...so i just call. flop comes A,7,9. he bets $50 i raise him all in he calls .he has 2,9 the turn comes 9...the river you guessed it another 9. I could'nt believe it i sat there and stared at the cards for for 2 mins left and didnt play for weeks after that....oh and the guy has the nads to say thats what you get for going all in against me.. it took everthing in my power to keep my cool !!!!!!

thats brutal man. i can't believe that. i've seen the perfect, perfect catch. but that fact that it was 92 is just embarassing. i think i'd quit poker after that

If this guy is truly playing like this, then he isn't folding 29 preflop regardless. And to go from 20 to 196 with AA isn't the correct play if you're looking to milk him of his money.

That is truly one of the worst beats I've heard and you probably deserve the monthly award if for nothing else the guys comments at the end.
HOWEVER......................I have a real thing about poker players and their attitudes towards bad beats. Lets face it we have all had them and done them. This is a game of skill, luck and guts. If someone is willing to risk his money on a dumb hand like that he deserves to win it just as much if not more than someone that has the "sure thing". Why do other poker players feel they have to annalyze and criticize every move someone makes. Everyone takes gut shots - even you? What about thinking about the worst bad beat you ever gave to someone else and remember it probably all works out in the end.
I am at times a loose player and at other times a tight player. I get hurt both ways and I win both ways. I think you just have to read the table and adjust your game accordingly.
Two things my dad always taught me - you can't afford to bet it if you can't afford to lose it and be a good sport. Both are important lessons. In fact, worse than bad beats are bad sports. Remember, every hands a winner and every hands a loser and the best you can hope for ...............(sing it Kenny)
Tough beat though.
