If you find this too hard to take, then fold your A-rag OOP preflop.

He's right. You did raise on the button with an ace, which is a fine play, and you got all your money in as a favorite, which is also fine. The reality is that the more hands you play, the more bad beats you will see, no matter how you get your money in. Don't play weak aces for big pots and you'll be less likely to take a bad beat.
-
Not really a bad beat IMO. You've called a raise in BB with an ace-rag which in my mind is risky - if the ace hits the board you don't know whether you're ahead or not. You need to reraise preflop or fold.
Even worse, you've checked the flop, so when he c-bets you still don't know whether you're ahead. You could lead out to get rid of mediocre hands, or a reraise shove from him etc makes a fold an easy decision. He's called with 2nd pair as he probably doesn't put you on an ace (plus he committed himself terribly) as you didn't reraise preflop. It's true, you disguised your hand well, and it's true you're favourite, but this situation could be worse. How often in this spot could you be outkickered by a better ace?
Remember also this a $10 mtt. You get alot of poor players in these tourneys and the way to get deeper is to take advantage of weak play. Think of bad beats in a literal sense - if he turned his K6 over before you reraised him, would you make the same play? Of course you would, you WANT to get it all in as an 80% favourite. You can't control the cards, and you shouldn't play if you cannot get to grips with that idea.
Your last few words are an indication to your attitude in mtt play. You must think clearly, try to put them on a hand. More importantly, remember the hand. If you get to this situation again you will know what to do, experience is essential to a successful player. Don't think you will always lose races, and don't expect to get beaten - think positively, think clearly.
Good luck
Rob
