  1. I think I've got it topped.. for my playing history, anyway.

I played tonight in the Riptide $5k on Paradise (I know, I know.. $2 rebuy.. that was my first mistake.. even playing it).

    Anyway..

6 times I lost all my chips.

Once with AA (beaten by 49), and 5 times with AK.. never beaten by a pocket pair.. each time bested by a truly crappy hand, 'cept for the one time it was KQ.

I only lost $20 in the tournament.. but wow, man.. it was like as soon as I saw Big Slick I knew I was doomed. On three of the hands, I called the next card to come (the only one that would beat me).

What's your worst tale of woe?
  2. tide is great, but yes it is evil too. 24$ in rip is my record. lol

Well, that' a $2 tourny for you. but PSYCH damage to one side, it is v v profitable but with hi varience due to WEAK opps. you can't bluff 80% of them much and 10% EVER, and 75% of the opps fish for almost any out.

the rebuy 1 hr is nuts, but even after that its still a bit of a gong show.

all that said, the large quantity of errors makes it profitable. and $1500 for first is a good sized pool for a MICRO MTT player like me.

  3. Well, last week in a UB tourney, I had the biggest up and down swings in the first hour that I've ever had. I doubled up early with a set of 7s but got totally demolished after that. Had QQ back to back and lost both (but didnt pay anyone off much cuz A and K flopped). Next I have AA, lose to JT, then KK goes down to 99, then AA to QQ, then KK twice to knock me out within the first hour. The cards I was getting were scary, if some of those hands held up I would probably have been CL, lol.

Also, on X-mas day, I played a Deep Stacks tourney on stars and in that 10.5 hour span I ran my KK into AA preflop 3 times!!! Sadly the last time was on the FT when I was sitting in 3rd and the CL re-raised me preflop. I push, he calls, GG me.
  4. It's a slightly different take on the question, but the stars $10r is my bane these days. Played it the last two nights. Saturday - 1700 people. Get AA, KK, AA and JJ cracked during rebuy by 99, 99, 9Ts, and 99 respectively. Finish rebuy with starting stack plus addon. Card dead hours 2 and 3, just staying alive by stealing blinds. Finally pick up KK vs shortstacks A-rag, ace flops. Finally went out with A5s vs. QT about 20 off the money (205 or so). Sunday, about 1400 people. Have a good rebuy, finishing with about 19k in chips. Couldn't find a playable hand for the next three hours. Saw one pocket pair the whole three hours - QQ - and got it allin preflop against two shortstacks. One flips JJ, one KK. The best hand I saw aside from that the whole way was A8os to a raise and a reraise in front. With about 250 people left, Im BB with 35. Folds to the button who limps, SB limps. Flop comes 345. SB goes allin (blinds were 600/1200, he only had 5k to start the hand) for his last 4k. I have about 10k and come over the top allin. Button has about 20k and calls off half his stack. SB turns over K4, button A7 for the double gutshot. Turn K, doh! River 6, double doh! For whatever reason, I can go deep in this tourney, but can't get over the hump - damn $10r just has my number.
  5. I had AA cracked on back to back hands, both all ins in a SNG yesterday. AA vs KTc he makes a club flush. Next hand AA vs 3-7 off he rivers a third 7. GG aces

  6. 35 soooted owns rebuys!!

trust me in LOW rebuys your gonna get ALOT of suckouts in rebuy hour.

Think my record for the stars $3 was $96!!
