you WR's are pathetic, especially for an 11-team league.
-
mine for a 12 team league:
Romo
E. Manning
A. Peterson
E. Graham
Deeangelo Williams
S. Slaton
L Fitzgerald
M. Harrison
C. Chambers
S. Rice
D. Branch
J. Shockey
G. Olsen
Josh Brown
Dallas
Seattle
I like my team a lot. -
Damn, thats a very good draft for a 10 person league and an amazing one for a 12 person
-
Yeah, having idiots in your league, and people on yahoo autodraft always helps.
-
Westbrook 4th overall? Reach, IMO.
-
I guess when you factor in his receiving numbers, it isn't such a bad pick. Maybe that just comes from me getting burned numerous times in the past by his injuries and Reid's RB by committee approach.
Still, he hit career numbers last year and you can't assume he's going to duplicate that. For the #4 overall selection, I'd much rather snag a guy that's pretty much a lock for double digit TDs like Portis, Addai, Barber, et al. And, Peyton is still on the board too. I'd take any of those guys over Westbrook. -
Please join my league...LOL@ that whole post.
-
Yuck. I don't want to sound like a dick, but the OPs team looks weaaaaaaaaak.
The WRs are awful. Who's the #1? There isn't a single bonafide WR on that team. Lee Evans puts up 1 or 2 huge games a year and then shits himself the rest of the time.
You'd better hope that Parker finds the end zone this year, which he should.
weakone, your team is very solid. Definitely some retards in your league for you to have such a stacked lineup like that. -
One of my favorite things about fantasy sports are those that base this year's expected performances on last year's numbers.
Please, league ID and password whenever you're ready. -
if my giants can win the superbowl, op's team might be able to win the league.
well said bgx -
Ummm....

Portis is hardly a lock for double digit TDs...first of all, he's carried the ball more than anyone in the league over the past 3 years per game, and has had seasons of 11, 7, and 11 TDs. Also, you talk injury risk about Westbrook (who played 15 games last year), but don't mention Portis.
Westbrook had 2100 total yards and 12 TDs last year. Portis comes nowhere near those numbers.
If you're in a league that offers bonus for long TDs, Westbrook's value goes through the roof. If it's a PPR league, it's even higher.
Oh, and Barber had the same number of TDs as Westbrook, and 1000 LESS yards. Come on now. This season will be no different. Felix Jones will take 10-12 touches a game away from him.
I'm not even gonna get into Manning at the #4 spot...take a look at last year. His TDs and yards came in bunches. Most of the time, he was barely above average. He is nowhere near a #4 overall pick... -
Thanks, yeah we had a couple of idiots that didn't know what they were doing. Then a couple of more idiots who were on autodraft, and yahoo doesn't recognize things like Alexander being done, they just go by last year's finishing number's i think.

Who know's though, you still have to aviod injuries. If Romo or Peterson goes down, i'm not going to be very happy. -
my squad in a 12-team league
QB- Favre, E. Manning
RB- Lynch, MJD, McFadden, DeAngelo, Stewart
WR- B Edwards, S. Holmes, Cotchery, BUrleson
TE- witten
K- Folk
D/ST- Titans, Jets -
Again, I don't just look at last year's numbers and say, "hey, this guy put up career numbers, he's bound to do it again." Obviously, there are exceptions (LT, AP and the like...) but I prefer guys that put up consistent numbers. Portis is a douche, but he gets tons of looks and more often than not, hits double digit TDs. Addai, in Indy, in that offense...enough said. Barber is going to get all of the goalline carries and F.Jones isn't going to take enough away from him to adversely affect his stats, IMO.

Westbrook had career number of carries in the last two years. Can you really expect that pace to continue? In that division? On that team?
Once again, maybe my viewpoint is a little biased from being burned by him years ago, but I just wouldn't take him that high. I don't think he'll have that kind of season again this year. IMO, I think the Eagles are going to struggle, big time, and I expect his numbers to suffer because of it. Maybe it's splitting hairs because I'm not sayin' he's not a R1 guy, I just don't think he's a top 3 or 4 R1 guy. -
Im a fantasy noob.. not to hijack but pls tell me if this team i drafted has any shot at winning or should i join another league?

You can't solely take history into account, but it's at least an indicator.
You say "There are exceptions" and then name Adrian Peterson???? He just finished his rookie season (for which he couldn't stay healthy), and you're gonna use him as a great indicator of future production?
You like the fact that Adrian Peterson averaged 35 yards/game over his last 4 games, including a turd-like 14 carry, 3 yard performance?
Take away the 550 yards that AP gained over just 2 games, and he had averaged about 65 yards/game...
I don't get it. You'll use historical production to justify a guy coming off a rookie season that ended poorly, but you won't use a guy that has averaged 1800 yards and 10 TDs for the last 4 years and is just hitting his prime. Oh by the way, the Eagles struggled last year, too, and he still got his. -

I'm running a $200 league again this year. Info is on the front page. You're more than welcome to join.
The only fantasy you've got is the one that has you winning this league... -
